  1. Myco I heard in the past that there are some patches close to Curtin uni. There are some dirt bike tracks close to Lake Pinjar which is covered by tall pine trees. Also when you're driving to Yanchep, there are massive forestry sites on your left side which are all pine trees. This is just in case your crazy friend was interested

They grow everywhere in WA and I found 3 different specimens of it here in Perth. They don't have blue or purple stains so I haven't tested them to see if they are active. I might try.

I am so sorry that I sound like a troll. You are right as I'm very poor at telling them apart when they are small. No excuses though, when I'm not sure I shouldn't say anything. Their shape and texture changes base on the amount of water they are exposed to

    Myco (02/May): Gym.A Myco (30/Apr): Gym.p Likemyc (04/May): Gym.p Mycot (10/June): SWIM personally tested over 40 Gym.a / No sign of activity
  6. Hello my friends I was wondering around the bush for some good old Gym friends when I found these mushrooms and I thought that their colors are similar to my favourite Gyms and they are growing on the dead wood but their shape is not like my old friends! I thought I'll pick a couple of them and take them home to undertake some proper investigation to see what they are as I haven't seen these before. That night around midnight I wakeup to drink a glass of water and in the dark I've seen these beauties are glowing in the dark. WOW They look so beautiful you wouldn't believe. I've tried to take a photo in the dark but my mobile is not the perfect tool to catch these photos. Note: these mushrooms are not edible and if you eat them you will get sick but if you found them, take one home for the glow in the dark experience. Hi Myco It has been years from our last conversation. I have a bit of a sad news my friend Alantopus But the good news is that it is growing exactly on the same environment as Purpuratus. You are almost there. Don't give up my friend

    Where did SWIM go wrong?

6 or 7 of the same patch used to knock SWIM's socks off!!! But hey there's a chance that these ones were not as strong as they used to be

    Where did SWIM go wrong?

Last Sunday SWIM found a good patch of Gym.P 16 good bluing Gym.P SWIM warped the mushrooms in newspaper and put them in a jar in the fridge for Friday night. Friday night SWIM took 7 mushrooms and while they still look fairly fresh with blue stains, nothing happened. How can you preserve the mushrooms for a week (or longer if possible)?

By looking at the 4th photo you can see that some of your mushrooms have brighter gills (like the color of inside of an apple). they will be your best friends from now on. Stay away from orange gills because they are either: 1-Gym.A or any other name you want to call them and they are not active 2-there is a chance that is it deadly galerina (over 300 species of galerina are out there) Deadly Galerina: BTW thank you so much for cutting the mushrooms carefully, they will reward you for your good behavior in August. If you find a new environment that you think it is similar to the spot that you find them leave a small bit of the cap in the woods to see if we can help these species survive the big number of hunters we have outside. Good luck

    Are G. Purpuratus really active?

The lake it self is a salt lake and I will be surprised if you come back with a positive result

Some pics from a recent walk

Similarities between the sub and galerina is an accident waiting to happen. I wish the big brother who pretend to care about our health could understand that making these teachers legal might actually save our lives
