About the "Trespass" Sign, In general yes can be placed on Rural properties for Insurance and other legal protection.As for All properties though.From what i can gather.By law.you must allow a clear and unobstructed path to your front door.As for keeping out the Sheriff, I feel that would be as useful as Tits on a Bullfrog and would have no legal binding. To answer other questions about rates. yes it is legal to collect rates,this is wher local government obtain revenue in order to build roads ( council ) swimming pools ,library's, garbage collection and water supply ext,. I once gain legal ownership from a deceased estate after council failing to find a living relatives and all i did was pay the 15 years of outstanding rates. In Nth Qld, a Council served a Motel owner with notice of intention to sell the property because of years of unpaid rates. The Council gave the extension and they ( The motel owners) managed to find the funds and pay. I am in full agreement of Rates,as to the amount, you will have me debating.

I was once a store owner and on a few occasions have refused to serve or asked people to leave. A store owner has full "Right To Refuse Service" and is "signed" in some stores.I refused entry to a person who was not "Anglo Saxon". Not because of their race,but because they were intoxicated. On refusing this person entry they began a barrage of racist remarks as to my race "WHITE" And accompanied with a string of profanities.The police were called and the person was charged with trespass.I asked the Police officer what i could do about racist charges as well? ( they were totally offensive and felt i had a right) The Officer Laughed and said "yeah right, Best of British in getting that to stick" So i concluded from that, there seems to be a law for Whites and another for non-Whites. Please I am not making a racist remark here.Just an observation.

I had a charge of possession several years back. When i applied for a Police cert for Employment, it came back clean, when i asked the officer at the desk he said for minor offenses they are not recorded if you have been clean for 10 years or more. (That was N.S.W.)

About phones being Tapped ,IE cables being split, Was In a Documentary on the A.B.C few Months back and produced a lot of evidence to back it up.Was a rather hard hitting and very informative program. This was all as a result of 9-11, with laws being changed under the disguise of "Anti Terror Laws" Americans can have their library cards accessed with out warrant in order to ascertain their political/social views.And was also reveled in the program about "Key Words" being used in electronic communication that would have your phone conversation and e-mail diverted for monitoring. As for "Pine Gap" It has always been strongly believed to be a base for monitoring calls. The base is American owned and Guarded. In the program,the people interviewed (Anonymously in most cases) were ex tel-co workers who did the installation work on the diverted cables and secondary exchanges,& Government Agents. Please do your home work before calling it Far fetched.

Come on are people so naive as to think we are not monitored at all? FFS people! Most Country's including Australia Make it an offense to publish anyone's picture without a formal release being signed by the person in the picture, or if a Minor,signed by a Parent or guardian.Be it print or electronic media. IE. T.V. video, and includes web sites. A letter from your Solicitor should scare him enough to remove it. This is why you may see faces blurred on news, Current affairs & other programs where the person has not consented or the Producers were unable to locate the person after filming. General Photos for personal albums such as family pics at a park or at the beach where others maybe in the back ground are fine,as they are not intended for publication.If however you wish to put the picture of Face Book or similar site and the people in the background are clearly visible,Then they will need to be blurred.

As a security Guard i can tell you, you do have the right to refuse inspection of your bag. But then they do have the right to ban you from the store. ( would be extreme though and usually only if you have been caught shop lifting) If they make referral to the sign "we reserve the right to inspect bags" or words to that effect. You can say one of two things, 1) Sorry,i didn't see it, 2) Sorry but i changed my mind. I will add that if they detain you for refusing them to look in your bag and not because they suspect, or infer you have left the store without intending/ non payment, then they are treading on dangerous ground. Anyone who has this happen should seek legal advise, especially if it has been inferred in public that you "stole" something. Another thing is that Security staff may "NOT" place their hand in your bag. or refuse you to move on without grounds, this could be taken as unlawful detainment. ( I would check that last statement for clarification ) Hope that gives you some insight. One point i would like to raise is that to obtain a "Security licence" you have to undergo a police clearance check without a criminal record in the last 10 years,theory training about basic law and right ext, yet Dept, stores are allowed to rotate checkout staff to act as security.
