    IRC chat room.

I just sit there in idle logging everyone's conversation. I always go online when nobody is there, i sit there idle and wait until somebody says "hi dude" then i get a notification in the taskbar that someone is talking to me, then i check my irc client and i see: "oh hey dude, just checking if anyone is in here" "Oh you're not here, ok I'll go" Well there'll never be anyone there if everyone keeps doing that! I don't know, it was a few years ago now. I just had a baggie full of dried amanita skins powdered up (possibly not as dry as they could've been) and smoked a couple pipes of that. Pretty quickly I felt some really violent nausea, after chucking my guts up felt a nice sedating stone , i was guessing this could be what the whole death/rebirth trip was about cuz i felt like i could've been dying then after throwing up felt a nice buzz and floated off to sleep immediately.

    Matisyahu

Reggae music is typically religious anyway, Rastafarian. I dig Matisyahu, the same as I dig Ben Harper with his Christian stuff, or old bluesy gospel sorta jazz, It's about the soul and the message. As for the Jews message I suppose that depends on if it's a Zionist political interpretation or a regular peace loving interpretation. Matisyahu music is that same ol' revolutionary reggae with spiritual themes about overcoming oppression through revolution of mind and all that, pretty self explanatory get up stand up sorta stuff with a dope beat that makes ya do just that.

...It's cuz tryptamines are quite clearly teh winner! Different strokes, different folks, tryptamines were his thing. I'm gonna start bagging on John Lilly for being obsessed with his ketamine experiments, and now all these lilly-ites are believers in entities! Goddamn psychedelic theists! find em everywhere from classics to dissos (stop blaming the drugs man). I can't believe they all believe their deeply profound (trans)personal experiences as some kid of evidence of the "other", and then with this newfound realisation of the nature of the cosmos they get all messiah-like and holier than thou as they communicate this concept to others that have been there and forgot but are waiting for a reminder, and then as the truth is RE-cognised they are reminded of their collective vision of the truth, poor brainwashed idiots. The thing with poetry is that you don't believe in it, you know it's true, it just took the right words to remind you. The truth is always there, hidden by everything else one believes in; believers fall for the illusion, seekers seek to remove illusory obstacles to truth, that's why they can see.

Poor countries cutting more emissions than the rich

Excellent post sly! re: consensus, majority is not always right. The truth spoken by one is still the truth. I think we often subconsciously "follow the leader" twisting our own perspective in the process, I think that perhaps scientists believe in an objective material world out there forgetting their own variable in the equation; a theory was created based on limited data, now more data is made to fit this theory instead of looking at the data with fresh eyes. In any case climatology seems quite a chaotic and counter-intuitive science, what with all these conclusive predictions being so inconclusive, I suppose that chemtrails and HAARP do not help to clarify the situation any either. Maybe the dynamics of climate have long ago been understood by a secret ruling elite and every leading world scientist is a relative noob, or paid dis-info? The uber-conspiracy-theorist in me would believe we've been controlling the weather ever since it became a popular new global enemy to control the masses.

Poor countries cutting more emissions than the rich

I do not support the carbon tax on principle. I will concede that if the majority of well versed science types have reached a consensus on AGW with carbon as the reason for it then for sure we need to reduce carbon emissions -having said that the power of suggestion and the experimenter effect will mean that even with the most objective minds and the most well controlled tests there will always be an inherent bias in the results; the whole collective is geared to receive certain results it expects. [edit] not to mention the emotional investment a scientist can inadvertently make in their theory, blinding their objectivity. Offloading the economic burden to change infrastructure and industry (who have made all the money and should be paying for this change) onto consumers will not change anything. Companies will make dealings with corrupt third world governments (or first world) there will be exemptions and most of all there will be redistribution of wealth just as there always has been with every new economic solution. I have principles, that's why I do not support the tax. Thanks for lumping those against a carbon tax with Tony Abbot, in fact if there is a conspiracy I think that having Abbot on the "skeptics" side is to convince everyone a carbon tax is logical (cuz Abbot is anything but). I see the way politicians and the media have treated this issue and the hype and scare tactics do not promote intellectual debate, rather alarmist rhetoric, and for those who reject this kind of emotional manipulation they are ironically very emotional in their rejection of the rhetoric, and blind themselves to the truth because of the way a liar twisted it first. Not seeing how they've been manipulated themselves by their hate of manipulation. If it is as big a problem as the scientific community says it is, then the media and politicians (and their globalist friends they represent) should just fuck off so that people can get together and actually fix the situation without everybody's vested interests getting in the way. Corporates and politicians are merely exploiting a real problem to gain control again. Genocide and ecocide have never been concerns for the elites, but they're important to us, and that's enough for them to manipulate and gain control.

    Climate evidence is in.

...the question remains, how will a carbon tax help? If green energy incentives are retro-actively abandoned and no funding is going into R&D of green technologies, where does this money go? (can we audit the tax office?), or as SlyBacon put it, how many degrees celcius is my tax dollar worth? Without accountability in government no fucking way am I trusting this carbon tax, considering the just recent track record of scrapping the solar rebate I KNOW this has nothing to do with saving the environment - even if politicians jumped on a legitimate issue to have us again believe in their righteous exploitation of our concerns, they can not fix the issues, they can only create more issues around the mismanagement of a serious issue. In other words, *ahem* conspiracy *ahem* A top down heirarchy feeding off the infinite growth of international bankers interest rates, directing the rest of the world with these economic puppet strings through a carrot and stick mentality where we're all puppeteered by our own self interests, cannot be anything but parasitic. We cannot politely ask the vampire to stop in this inherently parasitic system (a parasitic ideology). It is obvious that any action taken to save us from ourselves is yet another parasitic action of the system. Fuck the system, overgrow the government, we have all we need without their "help". I mean too many people are tangled in these strings for us to be able to affect change without being bogged down with economic concerns... hence, fuck these manufactured concerns. Lend me a hand and I'll lend you mine, fucking simple innit! ...On another note, maybe money is needed to affect massive change (that is mobilise masses of people), so perhaps at the core of the issue is the need for a fair and stable currency, a stabilised economy so that we can work together instead of against each other, acting from a paranoid mindstate of permanent shortage and the need to claim all of nature while you can (supply & demand) whereas had we worked with nature there would be abundance. So there we have a free market, we need a free media and open dialogue without fear mongering and we can take deep breaths and act out of love not some state of panic that limits our options immensely. Talk to your neighbours about co-operative farming, permaculture and all that. (I should do that too right now), it's a step in the direction of self determination, and I'm not gonna hold the states hand as they walk into oncoming traffic.

    Would you go?

well... if by funny you mean strange and alien, then i imagine everything about them would smell/look/hear/taste/feel/esp funny also. I don't know... I've got this notion in my head that the alien is a projection, so if I were to re-unite with my projections, that is be the projector and projections, I guess they wouldn't be alien anymore, they wouldn't be far from me, I would be them and they me, that's my thinking. Cuz what's strange and alien is always marked against what we assume to be normal, I don't think there is any seperation of self/other apart from this assumption/illusion/projection so if being taken up to their ship means becoming my own projection or immersing myself in my illusion, is that uber-hyperreality? or is it a massive facade? Disassociate or Hyper-associate both seem to reach infinity (in either direction), and infinite truths in a shared singularity of sorts has that ying/yang one and many sense of the universe that i look for when creating my illusory frameworks for interpreting the ever-changing fakeness spawned by the only thing real. Interesting question. I think that for the seeker to have any seeking to do the alien must forever remain so. A communion experience or a ride on their ship may entice and excite the seeker to further gain knowledge, however to become one of the alien, to integrate with the ever-changing novelty that is the alien being is to put an end to the never-ending story. Maybe this is the eschaton of systematic knowledge uniting with chaotic novelty, and what that means I don't know.

Crafty little Arabs sending their kids over first as sleeper cells or something. I know their tricks! It's the kids you need to fear the most, their innocence is just a ploy to steal your bodily fluids and make Australia a Muslim country. I'm onto them! Good on Mr Bowen, we need to send them a message, that although we boast to be the lucky country and a bastion for freedom and human rights, that's actually just bullshit if you're not rich or white. I mean if these people smugglers can move these "illegals" into all these other countries first that just pass the buck, why do we have to be stuck with them?.. What, some sort of humanitarian bullshit? We didn't sign anything! Oh what? We did? Well remember the UN is suddenly deemed irrelevant by any countries breaking its charters. Humans may have human rights but once you demonise the weakest and defenseless of us to create sub-humans, there's no sub-human rights charter, and we can justify the worst treatment of people sub-humans if we rationalise through fear based irrationality that we can't trust them, or they deserve to be imprisoned indefinitely with no legal recourse, suffering for an assumed eternity for the crime of surviving. Neo colonials getting upset when their mess gets back to their front step, and instead of coming to the aid of a population dispossessed thanks in no small part to our pro-war-bush-ball-sucking policies, we blame them and vilify them for the misfortune this military industry has delivered them, because they bought it on themselves harbouring terrorists or something right?

    Watching the Deniers

Self sustainability and eco friendly practices sound great! I'm just scratching my head considering how the solar panel rebate has been scrapped (the government broke its contract with the people) where a real financial incentive for direct action to fix the problem, via using alternative sources of power to evil fossil fuels, is taken off the table and instead we have another tax... because we all know that taxes are spent wisely and effectively, and we can rely on our benefactors to save us from ourselves if we just give them all our power.

Why did we lose our fur?

Yeah I can understand that. It's not so much an answer (the answer is the mystery, that being the definition of alien), as it is a model for interpreting reality, a myth of a numinous presence, the self forever projecting a sense of other out of what is singularity. God is divine, dividing the one into two. First there was the word, we interpreted many words from it. My trip at the moment is concerned with symbolic or metaphorical truths that manifest through a transcendent connecting of disparate dots, which invoke a meaningful multifaceted manifestation of magical moments in mundane material reality (read some Jung). A cause and effect material world created by transcendent spiritual symbols with a fractal or holographic self similarity viewed differently from different angles of interpretation, them all being true. If the mechanisms of the subconscious were understood they would seem to be a very technical science, something beyond our realm of understanding, something alien. I guess it's just another way of seeing the world. What I mean is that random mutations causing evolution is as much an assumption as an unseen influence which is intentional -I think they are two sides of the same coin and what was once random may have always been order from a different perspective, ie: peak experience full on determinism. Of course I submit to a paradoxical view of life where chaos/order are integrally the same self creating reality and that the answer which makes the most sense is nonsense... it is beyond rational explanation and it is beyond intuitive feeling, it is an integral entanglement of the two, the evidence of a creator of the created, which always was and is therefore uncreated, the projection of your subjective knowing onto an eternal unknown, the connection and dissolve is beyond thought and beyond feeling, yet it feels like it's the truth, at least i think so. ...Put it another way, the answer is the question, the known is the mystery, random chance creates ordered intention and vice versa, evolution may well be a chaotic and spontaneous thing, chaos spontaneously creates order (they are the same), this makes a paradoxical sense so I like it. I like the hindu myth (massive paraphrase) god is in a state of divine union, bliss and all that yet he seeks adventure and companionship, one is the loneliest number, so there is a schism where his counterpart (the other) is running away and changes form. God is lost and cannot recognise the new(alien) form but there's some subconscious communication from the other which suggests that they are one, god recognises unity so again the other must transform, this happens ad infinitum creating the myriad forms of the universe. I think we're just lost in space right now finding our counterpart.

Why did we lose our fur?

Yeah, I'm no geneticist, apaprently there are tell-tale signs of manipulation within our genome, beyond there being "junk dna", so what I mean is the "mess" is apparently different to regular "messy dna". I'll find a presentation I was watching on youtube that presented all the evidence for intervention in the development of our species, or out-right creating a novel hybrid species from various other species and genetic modification. Now the points you make about our human brain replacing the benefits of strong bones and whatnot, good point but the evolutionary timescale between our "ancestral" species and the one we are part of now is often seen as too short to be the effect of evolution, 3 words: "The missing link". Positing that an alien other (not harmonious with our ecosystems) GM'd species on this planet as an experiment (or attempt to harmonise the alien consciousness with life on earth... or to steal our gold) seems a reasonable explanation for our disharmony within the natural world on this planet. Science and genetics and evidence twisted and filtered to fit an assumption aside, what do you think of the story? The spiritual significance of an alien other creating change through increasingly novel influences? As far as metaphysical frameworks (myths) go, I like it. Of course it's a conveniently placed answer where there is now a mystery (except for all of societies myths regarding genesis), having said that I like the answer as itself a mystery symbolised by the forever alien other.

Why did we lose our fur?

Very interesting posts WoodDragon! I appreciate you spending time to explain that for us! "safer"? Where's the danger in entertaining alternative theories. As long as one doesn't pin down their theory of reality anywhere it really doesn't matter. There is much evidence in support of the theory we are a genetically modified race species.. it's all in our convoluted, maladapted and otherwise messy dna, our bones and muscles are pissweak in comparison to other primates, plus there's the whole lack of fur thing, we don't have primate eyes, we do not seem to be a part of the natural harmony on this planet at all, we have all these birth defects like no other living thing on earth, which could suggest our genome has been tampered with and is not entirely suitable here, not of this planet, why we cannot really adapt to our environment. Then there's other circumstantial evidence of manipulation from higher beings (Extra Terrestrial or Extra Dimensional) in visions, myths, art, religious texts and iconography ...and footage of Yeti's (what Neanderthals evolved into instead of us). I like the idea that perhaps alien(novel potentials) intervention can be of a higher dimensional order... erm.. by that I mean that perhaps the genetic modification is of a more subtle mechanism than our physical tools can do. At the same time the "evidence" for is is also the messed up dna that could of happened with inaccurate splicing. I'll need to get some youtube videos as conclusive internet proof. ...Anyway, as far out as the theory is, I like it. The very concept of an alien other in a universal (singular) existence, it's like a program in the matrix designed to create self awareness from it's dissonance from the harmony of nature(totality), by having an outside point of reference we are god finally able to look in the mirror, by stepping back, outside the body of god, we are out of body, ecstatic. It is from isolation and disconnection (alienation) that we can feel the bliss of the reconnect. Where nature is a harmonious unity, we are stuck in duality, we are lost to find ourselves, we have fallen from the dizzying heights where all there is is white light to make our way back, to walk the path, to experience the journey, to witness the beauty, without this dynamism, all there is is all there is and that's all there is. ...Thanks for the opportunity to rant a bit about unsubstantiated theories about everything and nothing. [edit] It seems "logical" to me that if we live as a network of subjective consciousness in an undefinable shared reality, that the further abstractions of our consciousness (higher dimensions) would also share our consciousness, that these angels or demons (or aliens.. whatever nomenclature your mythology prefers) are a holographic extension of ourselves, like I am of you and you of me. Just a theory.
