    Seven Deadly 'Shrooms

mmm - nice link and pictures. but you'd have to be a Darwin award chaser to eat any of those by accident - in particular the false morels.

    out with a bang

This would be my guess as well. I notice it more as I get older. Add shrooms for intensity.

    Backyard ID

these seem to come up after lots of rain. I've seen them in both autumn and spring/summer. pretty scattered, never more than two or three.

    Backyard ID

lol. except its gold - with a green tinge around the edges. LGM maybe?

    Help me i need energy

Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. (as told to me by my late Grandma). Seems to work. I'd also say try something like St Johns Wort. Mild depression will destroy motivation.

    Bucks Night suggestions?

Actually, after two weekends of getting pissed on Saturday nights, I'd like to retract my suggestion. Substitute your poison of choice by all means, but alcohol and the subsequent comedown/hangover sux big time...
  8. Pruned my San Pedro last month, and made a fairly angular cut. Still appears to be some mould, thanks to all the rain we've had lately. Do I need to treat this? It looks like it might be stabilising. If so, what with? I thought about painting on a little vinegar...
  9. too much water. that is one ugly mushroom. Psilocybe Cubensis Monstrose.

    Colonisation issue

could it be either a lack of moisture in the substrate issue, or perhaps older dehydrated spores?

    First Time Outdoor grown1

presumably an outdoor bed needs some level of watering in dry periods to survive???

    Psychedelic Fish!!

interesting article. i wouldn't put too much credence in the report of a 90 year old and and a 40 year old though (who's likely never tripped). I would imagine they'd be pretty freaked out and the fish looks very similar to what i used to call a drummer - although i'm not sure it is.

    Watertrade!!!

wow that's neat! where did you get the original myc from? did you isolate on to agar yourself?

    Bucks Night suggestions?

boys weekend away - fishing, drinking, smoking, golfing, drinking, canoeing, cards, stripper(s) (although the regional variety might be a bit on the rough side), did I mention drinking? With a liberal quantity of herbal remedies thrown in to boot.

Blue staining Marasmius found in Mexico

what makes you think its marasmius?
  17. i'm waiting for one of those interest-free sales with a payback date of Jan 2013 !! gee it would be interesting to organise a huge social experiment in the true spirit of Terrence...

    Old print

2.5 months is relatively fresh! If its really old (2 yrs +) then leave it in the syringe for a longer period before using.
  19. nailed it. and it gets real boring (and expensive) continuously re-rigging...
  20. a trace would not have helped even if id wanted to catch the little bastards. they were biting the line six feet from the end. id also be embarrassed tracing up for leatherjacket... i'm not sure about cutting them below the gills - it's not like they have lungs or carotid arteries. most humane way i've found (although you can't exactly get feedback from a fish) is with a good firm club over the head or a knife straight in the brain. Flounder, however, seem really hard to kill with any method (i think there brains are so tiny and mislocated its hard to find).
  21. I went out fishing the week before in my boat around the same area. It was dismal. The leatherjackets in the last two photos are in plague proportions. What's worse is they are not content to just steal your bait, they bite thru the line so you lose hook line and sinker!! (who said they were fun?!?)
  22. i get the error too. I planned on giving them a call on the mobile and popping in personally. Any ideas what suburb they're in?

    Bananadine

wow - google certainly indexes pages fast. just google mandarinedine.
  24. oh well, maybe a few shots...
  25. nice shots lsdreamz - beats the ones I took so I won't bother. lol - thats me in the background of shot #7. (no, not the girl). (perhaps at one stage I held a sign for you whilst you took a photo?) I was really amazed at the variety of cacti available - inspirational show. And I also managed to pick up a few souvenirs - one of the baby lophs (god help it), a cute monstrose T.bridgesii, and a couple of other smaller cacti. I didn't see the $50 lophs (which is probably just as well), and I also didn't see any pedros or peruvians for sale which I thought odd, unless those are some in shot #19. (are they?)
