  1. How would you best apply calamus oil? Is it a skin irritant? Would you have to mix it with a little carrier jojoba/olive/etc oil and then apply to somewhere blood is close to the surface say like the inside of the elbows a la nutmeg/mace oil?

Have you seen any cool movies lately??

I'm a huge Alien fan, was disappointed in the writing of Prometheus. Will watch this one, cheers!

Have you seen any cool movies lately??

Watching a lot of Netflix and Stan lately.... most of it's pretty average, some really cool, some straight up shit. Girlfriends Day - different, entertaining in a mellow way. Got Bob Odenkirk (better call Saul) in it, love that dude. Death Note - background entertaining Watchmen - cool John Carter - eh background entertaining Cloud Atlas - terrible and rambling The Inbetweeners 1 and 2 - AWESOME. High clunge approval rating Monkeybone - how have I never seen this before? Just watch it on mushrooms Little Evil - background entertaining The Discovery - "" Final Girl - good idea, half-assedly constructed To The Bone - Interesting if you know someone (or are someone) with an eating disorder Red LIghts - good idea, not bad movie but not great The Skeleton Twins - background interesting Vanilla Sky - better than I assumed it would be The Sweetest Thing - chick flick with dick giggles, I can dig it every now and then Awakenings - Robin Williams doing drama, good movie Autopsy of Jane Doe - pretty cool Exorcism of Emily Rose - decent, made me jump a couple of times which is rare Trainspotting 2 - lol much better than Ithought it would be. See it if you liked the first. Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 - for a teen/young adult movie it's got some pretty damn funny bits I know there's heaps more but cbf

I mis-read some of the decision, so apparently we "won" and the 10k was awarded to us. But the biiiiiiig issue is that the "member" (dad calls him Richard aka Dick) didn't read some basic and very problematic shit; for example a subsequent contract made on the day we involved Fair Trading, and the douchebag builder has to come back to rectify what we spent a helluva lot of money to fix to make it liveable and then tenable (is that the word to make it right for tenants?). But the 200k is what we paid the builder + what we paid to fix + some of the legal costs. It's now over and above that with the continuing legal costs. We have to appeal now because the MEMBER didn't do his job properly in the first place. So more costs for that, more time away from my partner, and longer that I can't apply for paying work because I don't want to leave an employer high and dry for possibly only 2 months. Hopefully the the appeal will take no longer than 3 months. Oh and the asshole barrister who threatened to sue us earlier in the year because he gave us one week to settle his surprise $9k fee (which I thought was upon finality) after making us come up with $12k last week for his services, now says he couldn't do the appeal papers on time so we've got to find a new barrister. If I didn't hate lawyers and barristers before... Again, not leaving on a bad note: I have a roof over my head, food in my belly, still in a much better position than many besides being cash poor AF, people who love me, I'm relatively healthy, got D in my freezer (love me some gold tops tho), and if I'm going to be stuck anywhere, I may as well be stuck somewhere the weather's pleasant and I can enjoy winter sunshine

Stone / rock / crystal collection and identification

I got into gemstones and their vibrational qualities a few years ago after feeling water vibrate through my hands after a reiki lady put them in a bowl. I wasn't expecting anything at all so to physically feel that as clear as day blew my mind. It's not only that that I love about them, but they're beautiful, and also what they ARE, what they MEAN that fascinated me. Now alas I'm trying to sell most of my gem jewelry for cash which I need more. Ive got way too big of a collection to photo though.

Well, I got the result of the tribunal for the builder who fucked us over. Basically he wins. He gets to come back to rectify his mistakes (even though we paid HEAPS to fix his fuckups so that we could rent the joint out (besides make it safe and livable for anyone). He got til the end of November to fix his mistakes. And he only owes me $10k in credit for the whole fucking thing. This cost me over 200k including lawyers and a useless fucking barrister. The decision is full of hypocrisy, blatant lies, blatant sympathy for the builder (who still had half the job done half assed NINE MONTHS LATER FOR A FIVE WEEK JOB). All the illegal shit I have proof of (forged documents, fraudulent use of other peoples ABNs etc) weren't allowed to be admissible. All the stress and anxiety over the last two years for this shit. I read the email and I felt physically sick. It's like the magistrate went away on holidays for months and months (the final hearing was last november and we only NOW got an answer) and came back to fluff through the notes, took the builders side and "justified" it with half-assed excuses some of which were contradictory and just LIES - there are many points where I have in all my submissions of the proof of what the magistrate said wasn't true. Oh and we only get three weeks to reply, and until friday to argue costs. So of course now we have to bring the solicitor and barrister back (MORE MONEY I DONT HAVE), because of this CUNTBUCKETS decision. I haven't been this close to giving up on everything since realising the spinal cord damage was permanent. It's not just about money, although obvs that's disgusting enough, its the downright unfairness of it all, and the bastard builder will do it again and again and again. He's been to court before and won before! I'm so going to media when I can. maybe ray hadley. CAn't stand john laws and I don't trust TT or ACA as far as I could throw them. This Tribunal shit is a fucking joke. No justice. When I won the medical negligence case (when crippled), that wasn't even malicious, that was two nurses making a couple of over-worked human mistakes; this filthy cumhole lied and cheated the whole way through and gets away with it. I have to live away from my partner again and now for longer still because I don't want to move back into the house while he's there - I don't trust him as I said in my affidavit (which was piffled away as some little girl's sob story). I loathe leaving on a negative note, so... at least I've dropped 10kgs in about a month.

^^^ Interesting thread is interesting. I heard a paraphrasing on Orange Is The New Black... "Wounds are where the light shines through." There are many versions of that saying but this one has a nice ring.

Jesus Christ, Horus. That room gets me wet. And is why I will never ever ever sell any of my books - someday I may actually be able to unpack them all and have them all out in the one big room with a comfy lounge and guitars/bass within hands reach of the lounge. It's amazing what fun can be had with even just an ipad too, I've got a iKaossilator pad, iMoog, and a few others to have fun with on it. Have yet to setup with the sonicport to play the guitars and zoom bass doodad through the ipad though.

Anyone used the magical cannabutter machine? Is it worth it? I like that it does tinctures as well. We can cook alright but yeah I like tinctures and the range of cbd/thc it can do.

^^ lol the unicorn was superfunhappymushtime. I really like the traditional tobacco burst colour, but I like variety moreso so while I've given my partner the squier bass to use while I use the ibanez, he's going to change out the pickups to Fender J and P bass ones and I'll get his friend to respray that one, probably with a design I've drawn over the years, have yet to pick one out though. The mind goes crazy thinking of the possibilities! I'm going to ask him to build me a guitar from scratch and design the whole thing myself, with the bottom cutaway fitting my legs perfectly because it's hard for me to balance most guitars on my lap properly which makes it hard to use my left hand properly. That's actually an Oud on the lounge there, my partner always wanted one so he bought that one but never got around to playing it much, so while we've been selling our stuff to get money he sold that. He'll buy another one when we're in a better position. I've been fascinated with mandolins since I saw one on the movie Return To Oz lol. Also, I bought a zoom B1on today (yay credit cards...) to make funky sounds on the bass. It's freaking rad. I don't think I've heard anything Horus has played yet, I'll have to go looking through the forums to see :D

I got a Line6 sonic port which you line in the guitar lead and out to the iPad or phone which works great, and have GuitarTuna but haven't played around with many effects cos the GDec amp has so much on it. I've heard of Justin Guitar and a lot of people swear by it! I used to watch a lot of YouTube vids to help too. Lately I've just been noodling with both guitars and the bass (squier jag short scale with amp... cos I'm a girl lol), but I'm swapping that bass with my partner (while he's back in sydney) for our Ibanez fretless 5 string for something different. Love the sound of fretless. Need to get his bass effects unit fixed so I can make funky alien sounds. Sick strat, too :D This is are my toys :D The strat has been upgraded by a luthier and the orange fluoro strings look tacky but I love it :D Oh my partner's selling his Hagstrom swede Ultralux... Waiting for Horus!

    Medical Marijuana

The relaxation it gives me means I don't end up having as much opiates. And considering I need a fair amount of opiates to be reasonably comfortable (especially by the end of the day which is the ONLY time I'll toke, when there's no more driving or responsibilities for the day) that's a big thing. It also helps me sleep a little better - although I still have chronic insomnia it helps keep other medication down. The mental relaxation and good mood it gives me is also wonderful. I stress less, I'm happier, it makes movies/tv better, music better, it makes shit jokes funny... I understand why the medicinal marijuana groups want to distance themselves from the mental effects of cannabis (obviously THC specific) but it really sucks that "euphoria" is seen as a side effect. What the hell is wrong with feeling good and enjoying something that also helps you physically? Even if it doesn't have physical effects, as long as the ingester hasn't got other problems directly caused by cannabis, why shouldn't someone be allowed to enjoy something?

Ever adopted a dog? Pros/cons or stories?

Pugs are cute as hell, known some funny little buggers but I think I'd lose it with the training aspect lol. George is cool :D I don't think dogs get too confused over a new name, they'll probably never forget an old name but a new name won't phase them considering how many verbal commands they can learn. My cats know their names and also the myriad other nicknames I give them lol. But all three know who I'm talking to at any particular point - and one of the cats is as dumb as a pug

Ever adopted a dog? Pros/cons or stories?

That doggie looks like an absolute champion mate, Skellum! What gorgeous eyes he's going to be a ripper! But you'll know if you have the conne3ction when you meet :D One of my family friends' adopted a greyhound and she loves her dog and reckons they're great, I personally don't have much experience with them so don't know, but I have known a lot of staffys and they and cattle dogs are my favourites. Not keen on Thor either lol He looks like a Blackjack (Jack) to me, but you'll know what feels right. FWIW I won't ever let a dog sleep on my bed... cats for beds, dogs for cars YMMV I've known too many dogs with boundary issues when they're allowed full rein with sleeping on beds and up on lounges. I'm quite stern with dog boundaries. I don't allow the cats on the kitchen benches either, safety and hygiene...

A way to make $100 for 20 minutes of your time!

I've had it up to the top of my head with CBA and was also going to change banks once I've got enough cash in to pay off my personal loan and credit card with them. I could also use any money coming in ATM and when I sell my car (ANYONE WANT TO BUY A 2006 TURBO FORESTER?) I'll be able to put in that minimum amount to ING. However I fucking HATE paperwork so I will be doing this, thanks Sir Jeans, but only when I can be arsed doing it. Probably tomorrow while I'm sitting in the rain bored as fuck all day at the Coffs car market... *eyeroll*

Partner went back to Sydney today for a job interview which he desperately needs. I'm stuck here in coffs for three months until I can move back into our old house unless I happen to get a magic job before then and I might stay. Sucks being apart again. Got to sell a sick car I only bought a few months ago and just put in new suspension and audio and of course the hand controls. Reiterating again the legal system rarely cares about the little people. I love coffs but the job market here blows the big veiny one. We knew it was bad but the attitudes of employers sucks. The divide between those who want to get ahead and those who want to Coast are miles apart, doesn't appear to be much middle ground. I'd still rather die here surrounded by bush than in the big smoke surrounded by brick and mortar

The assumption is Yahweh was speaking with the court of Angels, the Bene ha Elohim (?). The immaterial ones. I'd love to know how it came to be that humankind became personal secretaries for the Almighty... (cos it didn't happen???). Speaking of which, I love how atheists throw the argument "why does God allow bad things to happen"? Choose a better argument, Atheists, there's plenty to choose from.
