Cool. Question: If you freeze fresh specimens then make a tea using ascorbic acid, will you keep the psilocin intact?
-
I thought freezing fresh specimens was a bad idea; all they do is turn to mush. Psilocin is pretty much destroyed through any drying process but drying rapidly with minimal heat (<40 degrees C) will keep most of the psilocybin intact. From there, storing in ziplock bags / tupperware with dessicant in a freezer should hold the remaining potency indefinitely. Basically the less you expose the specimens to heat, light and oxygen, the slower the oxidisation process. Pretty much what others have said, but that's what my reading and exposure to hearsay tells me.

Was good to see ya Sunday, PD. I won't give any good vibes 'cause I don't wanna support Incog's shady dealings, but I will smoke a banana peel for you and look forward to adventures on the Murray at year's end. Hope you and the missus make it down for EGA, too. Big love,

Sun 19th Sept - A tribute gathering for Chemical Shaman (Denis Shaw)
JDanger replied to RonnySimulacrum's topic in News & Notices
Sunday was beautiful, I'm glad I made it down. CS' mother is pure gold. The funeral was a lot more sombre, as expected. The viewing was definitely uncomfortable but it brought finality to the whole thing. I was half expecting Denis to sit up and laugh at us, but once I came close I could tell he'd left his vehicle for good. The Chemical Shaman T-shirt was a nice touch. Thanks and love to everyone who was there, especially Ronny for putting on the tribute and dealing with LE. Another big thanks to the locals who showed tremendous hospitality; y'all know who you are. -
. Seems to be shaping up nicely.

A few Sydney folks are planning on coming down too, details TBC. Internet hugs for you, T. -
Thanks for linking that, Morg. I joined the forums after CS was an active member but had the pleasure of meeting him in person on a few admittedly outrageous occasions. I wish I knew him better; reading over his old posts completes more of the masterpiece that was CS. If I knew him any better I'd be an emotional wreck right now. He really was one of a kind, in the most glorious sense possible. To those who never knew him, you missed out. To those who knew him well, I'm sorry for your loss. Shine on. Part of me still feels this is nothing more than your most impressive practical joke to date.

Best wishes, Rahli.

From what I gather Trimingham doesn't support drug use (his son OD'd), but the few times I've seen him speak, he's been staunchly anti-prohibition, in part because it was the law which contributed to his son's death.

You mean a large portion of patients turning up to the ER with drug overdoses had mood and concentration problems? You learn something new every day.

Happy b'day, dude.

You'd need a whole harem to even you out, Incog Hi, Sally!

Impressive analysis, Rabaelthazar. VS, I lost two fingertips in an unfortunate but hilarious hairdressing accident last night, so it'll be a while for me -

I've had a look at it, but haven't been home since I downloaded it, so no playing's been done. Will post when I get at it. -

I'm classically trained but haven't played classical in quite some time (mostly synth/electro these days). More than happy to have a play of the score as well if you want a third opinion, VS. -
