woo fucking hoo!!! sounds like a plan ;) just one minor request, can we make it 6th instead of the 5th? means my missus has the day off work and can come! :D

when you smoke it, its kinda hard to explain but when you have a flemmy throat and you cough and cough and cough, but get no were, this stuff seems to ball the mucous up so it can be coughed up easily. such a releif. usually takes about 30secs-2mins to kick in, but it really works. however, i used the same stuff from my collection of herbs about 4 months later and it had no effect at all. thus why i'm after some fresher stuff ;)
-
I haven't but have discovered only fresh dried leaf tends to work. I had some dried leaf that worked great when I first got it but after a few months did nothing when smoked. so I need some kinda freshish dried stuff.
would also like to grow it if I can

hey guys! after some coltsfoot, either the plant and/or the fresh or freshly dried plant material. anyone out there to help me?
cheers

fact is, the dude prob eats foods like that all the time. I'm pretty sure the body doesn't absorb fat THAT quickly, does it? surely a the average healthy person who generally eats well but gave this puppy a crack every few months would be fine ya?

so my latest project requires an annoyingly difficult to build thing; a copper coil, (electro magnet style) that is wound around a spherical mould so that it's inside is round. the wire will not be wrapped around the entire sphere, only a 40-60mm band around the ball so when removed, will be a ring shape. (sorta.) it needs to have an inside diameter of 120mm at it's largest point. it requires to be around 3-6 turns thick. the wire will be 0.4-0.6mm thick. super glue will be used to bind the wire.
this does not sound too hard, but allow me to explain the problems.
1, the mould needs to be removable. this either means to use a sacrificial ball that can be destroyed to remove or a ball that is soft that can be deflated or squeezed or otherwise miss-shapen so that it can be removed. but must not be too soft or it will become miss shapen as the wire is wound onto this mould
2, finding a method of keeping the wire from sticking to the mould. it is not as easy as it sounds, as many lubricants will stick to the wire as it is being wound, preventing the super glue from binding that wire to it's surrounding wires. the wire needs to be right against the inside of the coil, with little to no layer between the wire and the air inside it. (i once wrapped it around a pvc pipe that was 1mm thick and this was completely unsuitably thick)
3, finding a supplier of a suitable mould and wire. i have estimated i will need a minimum of 300g of wire at a 0.04mm thickness, however 500g wound be best for room for error and fucking around. a ball 120mm is alot harder to find then one would think. especially one that fits with the first problem.
4, rotating the mould to accurately wind the wire on evenly.
i have a few solutions, but they all lead to more questions! :S
a Styrofoam ball would be ideal, however, the super glue would dissolve it, as well as many lubricants may dissolve it also. it would be good to paint it with something that would protect it from the super glue, then eaten away with a solvent (super glue has excellent solvent durability) but i don't know what is a suitable paint. a drill can be poked into this ball and set to a very low speed to accurately wind the coil.
using a ball made of HDPE would be ideal as most glues do not stick to it, however, finding a ball exactly 120mm wide is quite difficult. it also needs to be solid enough to hold its shape with the wire around it. this would be a sacrificial mould and cut out.
just then i built a coil from a small basket ball, coated in carnauba wax, with 100g of 0.4mm thick wire. but it was not enough wire, the wax was stuck to some strands of wire so it never bound to the coil, the coil was not wound accurately and there for tight enough so some wires lifted and finally it was only a 15mm wide band instead of 40mm or so.
so anyway, what have you guys got? any advice for any aspect of this lil project would be greatly appreciated!
i'm kinda stumped and been trying to work this bit out for months :S

ok guys so i am planning to catch up with a friend in newcastle and can only head down there for the weekend. i havent set a date cause i think it would be realy super cool if there is a bush doof goin down on that weekend i can take her to. to be honest will prob only be there for the sat night as i would arrive friday night, go to the doof with her, then leave on the sunday. because of this reason, i would hope it be not too far from newcastle.

ya that's exactly what I want! If its in good nick, I will easily pay $80 for one, and up to $150 if it is that big and soft and foldable/dismantleable. I'm so serious! lol been looking for months!
-
some examples of what I'm looking for. Take a note of the size and padding.
ebay.com/itm/Moon-Chairs-Every-Decor-Extra-Large-Size-/300456480448?pt=US_Chairs&var=&hash=item8bb2fcb4e0
amazon.com/Roundabout-Chair-Sage-32-44/dp/B0053N0Q0I/ref=sr_1_6?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1324350177&sr=1-6
These are alot over confy then the spinefex and oz trail ones. I mean I'll get one of those if I have to, but these look so good.
Ps the shipping on these are just over $250 thus why I haven't considered them yet.

guys i've been looking everywhere for these chairs and they are nowhere to be seen! encased you don't know what a moon chair is, let me explain:
Its basically a papasan chair with a metal frame so it can be easily dismantled or some also fold like a camping chairs.
there are a few shops here and there that sell moon chairs, but they are usually small (i want 1m diameter or bigger, ideally enough room to squeeze 2 people onto) or lack the padding i've seen, on the style I want.
I've tried every major camping store, ebay, gum tree. It seems the only way I'll get what I want is second hand, which is fine :D
So has anyone else got any ideas on where I can find one?
Also, if you have such a chair, and willing to part with it, I'm happy to pay any reasonable price. I'm also a pest controller, so I can offer those services if you live within an hour of melbourne. Like, I'm desperate for one of these chairs! Lol

first of all, I ment to use dry acetone to produce a complete dry powder extract so that there is no acetone left in the final product. I found trying to dry vodka extracts need to by done extremely quickly or the water may react with the product.
Also, acetone was my choice because the chemicals you speak of are in the same class as salvinorin, which is ridiculously soluble in acetone but insoluble in water and only a lil soluble in alcohol (compared to acetone)
Finally, adding water to a solvent will reduce the soluability of some chemicals. E.g. Salvinorin is significantly less soluble in very wet acetone then dry acetone.
Don't mind me, I'm just over thinking again :S

wasn't a bad festival and I didn't see a single cop the whole way home, mind you, I left sunday morning and most people couldn't leave sunday afternoon/night if the wanted to because of the complete lack of organization with parking and tent sites. Most of the cars were completely and utterly boxed in by tents and cars so most left on the monday from what my mates told me.

surely there is a suitable solvent to extract it with? Be alot easier to start with a crude extract then plant matter. I dare say dry acetone would be a good starting point.
this extract would be, thoroughly filtered, completely dried, powdered, and the powder dissolved in hot water. The solution would be placed in the fridge. anything insoluble in water should settle, because it would either percip out, or would not dissolve in the first place. This could simply be filtered with ultra fine filter.
In theory

ya gold! That's pretty much exactly what I was after! Perfect advice! So basicly all I need is a good recording interface and that should fix all my problems! Yay!!!!! :D now all I need to do is save save save.. Do you think this is something I really need to buy new or is it something that I can buy second hand?
I understand somethings can be damaged easily and sometimes you really should just buy something like this new. But they seem quite strong so what do you guys think?
when is the next melbourne meeting?

sounds good to me especially if we make it a Sunday. oh and I just realised, my misses is going away from the 4th -6th so she wouldn't be able to come anyway so I'd prefer the weekend after too if possible!
