if you want something low maintainance, perhaps fill the bottom 3inchs of the pot with course perlite and the rest with your soil mix. Them put your pot in a tray. The tray should be no taller then 1.5 inchs. Water it by fillng the tray with water. If the tray is 1.5inchs high, the water level will also be 1.5 inchs high in the pot. The perlite will suck up the water and dampen the soil above it. It will also promote the roots to grow downwards, away from the dryer soil, and towards the wet stuff it may not be perfect, but hard to drown. If the tray has a large diameter, it will hold more water and require less frequent watering. If it's too tall, the water will touch the soil, rocking it and also not allow excess water to drain away from the soil. It's a bit of mucking around, and it's not perfect, but i'm sure it will make it easier to care for her watering needs

as for the morning glory, perhaps carefully dig them up and grow them somewere sheltered and give it some love and it may come back with any luck. Do it soon tho

if there's one thing i'm able to grow well it's sally good quality soil is all thats needed. I would avoid sand because it tends to make it too dense and especially for young cuttings. plain, rich, quality soil is better for root development which is important for small plants. For young, poorly established cuttings and in winter just keep the soil moist. when the plant is more established and when the weather is hot you can keep the soil very damp, even sitting in a little water for a day or 2 and she'll love it. I root them by just putting them in very damp soil and they always catch. Only use a humidity dome to protect it from extreme weather like wind and frost. They have a horrible habit of adapting well to high humidity but very poorly to dry so try not to expose it to high humidity if possible. Hope i helped

you say that generally speaking, a plant grown in high humidity will have less developed roots them a dry ones. When the humidity is removed one reason it will dry out and drop leaves is because the root system can't supply enough water to keep the plant properly hydrated. Would perhaps feeding it rooting hormone untill it has enough roots help to combat this problem or does the hormone only work on cuttings? Just a thought..

i noticed this lil brown spot. obviously i'm gonna let it dry right out now, but is there anything else i should do? should i remove the humidity dome? (half coke bottle?) the spot is like when an apple i turns red after you cut it. it's not black, just dark reddy-brown. not slimy or anything only a lil softer then usual cactus flesh. like an apple realy. i think i'll wack it on top of the heater to dry it out faster perhaps? thanks guys

it lives upstairs by a window so it never gets freezing. I put it a meter infront of the heater, so it's not hot but quite warm and with a breeze blowing from it. Hows that?

ok i just checked i got 4 echinopsis lageniformis monstrose, a tricocereus S.P. Monstrose and my tbm the first one i saw the shape and thought cool a penis plant! And it wasn't active. The second i saw at garden world and saw the word tricocereus and it was the rite shape so i got it. Who knows what s.p. Means which was on the label. Well, it means if i take 2.5 large balls off it i almost get a feeling, but not quite. Finally i made sure it was the real deal and got a propper trich bridgesii monstrose they all look pretty much exactly the same. all have spines and form in lil balls

a word on penis plants: i have three penis plants. they all look pretty much exactly the same but only one is a trich bridgesii monstrose. i'v eaten both of them at some stage, with no or little effects. at least not what i would expect from the dos i had. so be sure not to simply buy something labled "penis cactus" be sure it's a real trich bridgesii monstrose.

hey guys. I'm trying to explain the differen't levels that different psychedelic can take you. Like weed will open your mind to understand new concepts by, to an extent knocking down part of the dim barrier. I hear mdma would take you to the next level although i'v never had this befor so can't comment from experience. Next would be mushrooms. They are can show you so much if you look for it. But are very playful so it's a bit harder to learn from. Cactus is more serious as it is a much better teacher. It seems it's there to teach and although it is great fun can easily be serious if need be. Dmt is the top level. It takes you beyond this world to a place were you are able to meet spirits beyond this world in a way that is difficult, but not impossible on the previous drugs. These are all my opinion btw and they are all different drugs that do different things so i can't say one is stronger them another, they simply do different things and there are plenty of other drugs to fit in there that i'v missed too. Anyway, back to the topic at hand, is there a good reference i can show to the miss's so she can understand it? She said she wants to know about it but i'm crap at explaining these things to ppl, but ppl who know what i'm talking about will know strate away ;) any web sites or books or what ever? i should point out meth and speed are similar but quite different drugs. I don't know alot about the definition of addiction, but i take dex amphetamine 5 days a week for medical reasons and have so ems the last 3 years. Sometimes i forget to take it. Because of this, it seems that, IMO, saying speed is addictive at any dose is fairly poor assumption. Anyway back to the topic question! i have a special changa mix that i was happily smoking with friends around a fire. Everyone enjoyed it. The blend almost no uncomfortable body feeling and made everyone feel awesome. One friend said he simply felt special. Only one guy tripped right the fuck out to the point were he couldn't see anything but colours but he said he absolutely loved it and asked for more, even tho this was his first psychodelic drug ever, infact, was the first experience for most there. Most didn't even notice that they were tripping, simply just felt good. Some said it was like a good pill that only lasted 15mins. This is a great example of how drugs effect everyone differently. This had a large scope when it come to small doses giving small effects and vise versa. This blend could not take me to anothe planet tho so only to be used socially ;)

Could you post it somewere tho cause it sounds very interesting. and comparing drugs is comparing bus's and cars. I enjoy using both for different reasons. I like cars cause i'm in control, i choose exactly were i wanna go, how fast i go, i can behave how i want inside my car, (dance, sing loudly, etc) i have the option of driving alone, and i can park right out the front of my mates place. Bus's can (arguably) be less predictable, less comfortable, there are always ppl there to talk to if you wish, there easy to use, as long as you buy a ticket, YOU can't really fuck up and die/it's not your fault, i can play guitar on my trip, if i don't pay attention to whats going on, no big deal but it rarely can take you exactly were you want but gets you close. perhaps in a technical sense, different drugs expose different layers of the sub conscious? I dunno anyway, i'm more interested in the different ways these drugs can teach us different things and were those things can take us. In a personal/spiritual sorta way. Good stuff so far tin thanks

is there any problem with purple pedro? Is growth slower? Does it increase chances of disease? Personally i think you should transplant some so you can keep some purple cause they look friggin cool also i dunno how good it works on seedlings, i use a plant hormone called super thrive and that with some fish or seaweed nutrient (which ever i have in stock at the time) and after using that formula, my 2 and 5 year old lophs have doubled in size right on the middle of autumn in roughly a month. Now it's winter there slowing a bit but growing like mad

ok my camera is screwed again and i surely dont expect much help because of it but anyway, in a garden bed among some wood chips with semi rotting leaves above the chips, were some mushrooms. they look alot to me like Psilocybe subaeruginosa acording to mushroom ID for dummies thread. they were the same shape, thinish hollow stem that had blue staining around the base on it before they were even picked. the base of the stem was a lil fatter then the rest. they had a lil nipple on the top of the cap. (it was pointy) but the colour was a light brown not dark brown. the younger ones apeared a similar dark brown colour as the pics. i assumed they were both the same species because they both had blue staining or apeared to grow out of the same spot as one with blue staining and looked similar. In one shroom Spores were visible and black. the thing that got me was the colour, being distinctivly lighter then alot of the pics i see. again, it's gonna take a clever cookie to help me out i think ;) any input is good input thanks guys!

yay! Thanks guys. But why does it look lighter them other pics? Is it just like, natural variety or something?

i boiled some water in a small plastic glass in the micro then dropped the shroom in after i took it out. It's been sitting there for an hour or so and the water is yellow not blue. Did i use too much water? Does this mean there no good? or should i leave it over night?

here are some pics the first pic is what was collected the second is some of the young ones collected the third is a cool pic of under the cap fourth is a few varieties that were picked. all had blue stainings but some were pointy, some were rounder with curtain like wavy bits at the bottom of the cap and one or 2 were split at the top does that help? i know the pics are crap but it's the best i could do

i just noticed one shroom has what looks like a dark brown spore print on the side of it. Pics should be coming soon

so could i tonight just wack it in a glass of water, put it in the microwave till boiling then set aside. And check the tomorrow morning?

some caps are turning blue/green in storage, specially the very young ones. Sorry the caps are light brown not dark brown.

well i'm sharing these more because of how unusual they look, at least to me, but if someone could id them for me too so i can start researching info on them that be cool too. first one looks like a purple penis. the top was about 35mm wide. it was found in Nar Nar goon in victoria a few weeks back after some rain. the second and third pics were found in emerald Victoria. they only had 10mm caps. the last pic there they are growing out of a concrete step and you can see lil baby shrooms emerging to the left and right of the bottom one. sorry about the sorry about the crappy pic, it was on my phone but it looked too cool to not take a pic and investigate. i assumed that the two pics i took were the same variety but i could be wrong. any ideas guys?

the two last pics are not the same spieces i found. i was working somwere else and found more of the 3rd one. they were that deeper red, not shiny at all and slightly different shape. but they were all still small 10mm caps

i'v been getting into making some realy cool changa pipes. my latest was made from acacia but i'd love to make one out of mimosa hostilis! trouble is all o can find is root bark when i google it. i'v sent out emails to heaps of bark surpliers asking for the wood so i can calve it but alas, no success. anyone got any ideas? or even some wood i can buy from them? thanks guys. ps, is there a better forum to drop this in?
