    Some tobbaco plant advice needed

I've been experimenting with a few different methods of curing and the best I've found yet is pressing the leaves much like you'd press flowers. Wait until the leaves start to turn yellow, pick a few and put them in a phone book with a heavy weight on it. Maybe put some brown paper either side if you're worried about the ink. Leave it for 3-4 weeks and you should get some nice brown (and very flat!) leaves that taste ok to smoke. I'm no expert, and I'm still trying out some other teks, but this is the easiest and quickest way I've found to produce something that tastes ok and still has a good kick to it. Also, in case you're not doing this already, pick off the flower buds as they start to form so your plants put their energy into growing larger leaves instead of flowers/seeds. If you let 1 plant flower it'll make more than enough seeds for the next season. Or if you only have 1 plant, just leave a few flowers and pick off the rest so you get bigger leaves. [ 24. Hmm... I get the feeling we're being primed to accept stricter laws regulating the supply of herbs and vitamin supplements (as mentioned in this thread).

    MAPS Auction

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies ( MAPS ) are having an auction to raise money. Items up for grabs include books signed by Jonathan Ott, LSD blotter art signed by Timothy Leary and Dr. Hofmann, equipment from Sasha Shulgin's lab, a guitar signed by The Cure and much more! God I wish I could afford just one of these things. Check out the listing here. [ 18. March 2005, 10:19: Message edited by: psybernaut ]
  7. Why not try your hand at scamming the scammers? Scam baiting is quite a fun sport, here's a site to get you started -> 419 Eater. Some people even claim to have made money from the scammers

    let's talk firefox

BugMeNot is a great little extension that let's you bypass the login on sites that have compulsory registration or collect personal info (eg. Sydney Morning Herald recently went this way). Just right-click, say BugMeNot, and it logs you in - provided someone has submitted a login/password to the database for everyone to share. Works with most major sites. Some other favourites are Mouse Gestures, the Google Toolbar for Firefox, and FlashGot.

    Wanted: Richadella dulcifica

Thanks for the lead planthelper. I've contacted Daley's Fruit Tree Nursery (they have a website at http://www.daleysfruit.com.au) and they only ship orders over $100. They don't have a retailer in Adelaide either, but it's a start... I'll keep an eye out at markets and nurseries, I'm sure one will find me eventually
  13. I'm looking for Richadella dulcifica or Synsepalum dulcificum, commonly called the 'miracle berry'. Can anyone help?

    ash

So does using an alkali such as ash aid in the absorbtion of other things, or is this specific to alkaloids? A certain diterpene springs to mind I'm guessing it probably wouldn't help, but it could be worth an experiment.
