    Lumberjack origins?

Well, there are some reliable breeders out there. People who collect pollen in a sack and do bag-isolated fertilizations. Then grow out 100 or so seedlings to characterize genetic traits, etc etc. I gave one of said breeders his first LJ in 2007, and I believe he created one of the first "known" LJ hybrids; an LJxPach IINM. He got that bastard to flower in a year or two. He's made a few others since. Not sure if he's here these days; I know he's taken a break from our other haunt. Nitrogen's another, and it seems Zelly is too. Anyway...this thread has brought me back. I forgot what an amazing resource SAB is. Where's Neo anyway?

    Lumberjack origins?

I agree Philo. And to add to that, it's hard to tell just how different (or the same?) the "Smith LJ" is from the "Neonaut LJ" based solely on a couple pics. They should be the same plant. If anything, I'm wondering if the picture of the Neonaut specimen is perhaps incorrect? Not to insult the poster, but it really does look different from the LJ I got from him about 8 years ago. In terms of "more than one LJ going around," LJ is the identity of a clone. As such, there is only one. Just like The Highlander. There could be 500 plants going around that are named "LJ," and 400 of them might even be amazing plants, but there is only one true LJ in the strict sense of a clone.

    Lumberjack origins?

I am a bit confused, as I'm pretty sure Smith's LJ came from me back in 2006ish. If that is the case, then it was originally sourced from Neonaut. My LJ looks just like Smith's, as well as the next 3 or 4 in that post. The "Neonaut" plant does not really look like the plant he gave me, which I subsequenty have to Smith and many others. Perhaps it is just a growing conditions thing though, as the plants don't appear to be radically different.

    Whos been to South/Central America?

Thanks Coco! I have to admit that I've never been outside of my hemisphere though. I just "frequent" Mexico because I have family and friends that put me up, and Belize was actually a school (biology) trip. I'm still crossing my fingers that I'll be able to make it to Peru some day... (not to mention all the other wonderful places on this beautiful planet)

    Whos been to South/Central America?

I've been to Oaxaca several times. Each time I meant to make my way to Huautla de Jimenez, and each time I was side-tracked by the wonderful food of the various states/regions. I'd say that the cuisine of Oaxaca could probably put you in a state of bliss that would rival the food of the gods. The grass that's grown in the hills of Oax is some of the best too, although it can be tough to track down. Hongos are pretty easy to come by, even outside of Huautla. Belize is beautiful as well, but not much else to take in apart from the beautiful views of rainforest/ocean/ruins. Good grass as well, but it's basically just sexi mexi...can't touch the Oax.

    cancer

I'm very glad that these products seem to be helping your GF, spudamore. Just please please please don't discount modern medicine when it comes to the detection and treatment of cancer. I've seen too many patients go to their doctor as a last resort after Wholistic and Herbal remedies have not worked, only to find out that their chance of survival would be FAR higher had their cancer been detected and treated months earlier.

Left Brain v Right Brain Test

That means that the "man brain" has overtaken your cerebrum, incognito. I have the same affliction. Seriously though, for me it's CW as well. Thing is, the description doesn't seem to apply to me. Also, no matter how hard I try, I can't get it to go anti-CW. This is cool...

    Psychedelics and Psychosis?

Holy shit Indigo! That sounds like a rough set of events even without the 2b. I'm glad it didn't snowball for you, but that's really too bad about your neighbor. I hope they all pulled through as well...

    Psychedelics and Psychosis?

Took the dope out to clarify, as it's snipped out and I don't want the context to be confused (to many people, dope means something else). But anyway, have you ever seen anyone on a coke binge? It's not a psychedelic, but this is a tried and true model for substance-induced psychosis. If you've seen or dealt with this, then you might be more sensitive in terms of picking up the not-so-obvious symptoms in other circumstances. I don't mean YOU, Zen, I'm just saying people in general. Seriously, this is evil stuff... Also, and this is not boomers, but have you guys ever had to care for someone that got printed? Re-programming is certainly a way to describe it, lending validity to what TST is saying about Lilly. The problem is that you're being programmed but still retain much of your original thoughts/tendencies/etc. This can cause for rather severe cognitive dissonance, to the point where psychotic symptoms clearly manifest themselves. A not-so-idealist explanation is that your head is fucking scrambled and integrating everything in a completely abnormal fashion. And these are veteran travelers that can easily hold their shit on 700 mics. Push anyone too far for their particular state and it could happen.

    Psychedelics and Psychosis?

Well, that in and of itself can indeed be valuable. The problem is that he came THIS CLOSE to dropping out of grad school and losing his girlfriend, not to mention putting his closest friends through the ringer. Luckily, it was only close...but had he dropped out, etc., then the after-effects would be far more impacting on his life. That's why I feel so strongly about this topic, and why I may have reacted on the harsh side in the other thread. You feel me?

    Psychedelics and Psychosis?

I mentioned this in another thread, but here's my experience with psychedelic induced psychosis. A very good friend of mine had his first cube experience in grad school, approximately 5 years ago (he was a very late bloomer considering the company he kept...for a frame of reference, I've enjoyed these types of experiences for 15 years). For him, the trip was beautiful. He mentioned that it was the FIRST TIME he had ever taken a moment to appreciate a sunset. I know, I know...I could hardly believe it myself. So the trip went beautifully for him, until he started to come down. As the effects wore off, he started to act really hard on himself. He was angry that he'd never appreciated the simple beauty in things like sunsets and flowers and all that great stuff. Not upset or simply angry though, more of a rage that seemed to build inside of him. Like a tangible, irrational rage. I tried to explain to him that that is what this is for: to awaken one's self. Perhaps he lost time, but he was still young. Now's the time to wake up and live! So the next morning he just wasn't the same. He was extremely agitated. All in a rush, fumbling around like a madman. We went to a diner, and he had trouble getting his money out of his wallet so he just yanked the thing out and threw it across the floor. Then at the very end of the meall, he just NEEDED to go see this movie. We weren't completely done eating, we hadn't discussed the movie at all, and didn't know the times. But he bolted up, and said he was going. So we indulged him, and walk the blocks to the theatre. When we get there, he just walks in without a ticket. A guy grabbed him, and I rushed over to explain that I'd be buying the ticket and that it's ok. Just barely smoothed that scene out, if I do say so myself. This type of crap continues for the day, so I agree with his GF that it would be a good idea for me to stay longer than planned (and thusly missing more work than I was supposed to). Nothing changes, but life goes on; I HAVE to go back home. I called him several times a day, and he indicated that he wasn't going to lab for his graduate degree. He wasn't taking care of himself or his apartment, and basically too anxious to go outside or do anything other than sit there. He finally went to talk to a therapist, which resulted in a yelling match and him storming out of the office. I visited again a couple weeks later, and nothing seemed to have changed. Then, one day about 4 or 5 weeks after the trip, he called me and left a message. "Hey blizz, I'm on my way to lab, just calling to say hi." It was like nothing ever happend. Although I was relieved, I was also a bit disturbed that he didn't even mention the whole fiasco, not even as a side-note. Well, he genuinely did seem to recover, as that was 5 years ago and there hasn't been any indication of relapse. Just as importantly, he does remember what happened, and we can talk about it in a rather frank and open atmosphere. The only lasting effect seems to be that he's scared shitless of doing anything even remotely similar to that ever again. He'll have a beer or a smoke, but that's it. I can't say that I blame him either. It was scary enough to have me question my own behavior. So that's my story. He has had no other indications of schizophrenia or psychosis, and neither does anyone in his relatively extended family. I hope that he stays the way that he is, and that nobody else has to go through what he experienced! Be careful, and please travel with caution!

    Side effects

Jesus H Christ Teotz, if you don't have anything SAFE to say then for the love of all that's holy, don't say anything at all. Giving the impression that anything of this nature is 100% safe is not only naive, but also extremely dangerous. These are powerful sacraments, and while they are most likely not harmful when used in an appropriate fashion, they are not to be taken lightly. I've had a friend develop psychosis that persisted for over a month; REAL psychosis that nearly resulted in his withdrawal from grad school. Luckily, this turned out to be a temporary state (other than the fact that he's completely done with this type of sacrament...which is unfortunate but better than the alternative). I'm unaware of any toxicity-related conditions, such as stroke/brain damage/etc, but as has been said, I'm unaware of any real scientific scrutiny in this area. Anecdotal evidence suggests that they are relatively safe in terms of toxicity, but you can never be sure how any given person might react. I apologize for this flame, but it's people like Teotz that give law makers the impression that we are too dumb to decide on our own what is and isn't safe to ingest.
