  1. Screw this, I am permanently deleting teotz from my mind and when I see his post I will go round it. Isnt there a way to ban him or something. He was quickly banned from nook and I think that that should also be done here. No respect from that fella, a limited mind and a way of thinking also.

    Grafting Comp- Oct 2007

Greetings everyone, although it is too late I am showing you what joy this competition gave to me.three beautiful plants.Thank you for that as you also had a great part in this.I was just looking over the whole competition and came to the conclusion that if I had entered my final post before 20th that I would have been the runner up.This really means a lot to me because every day I learn new stuff and realize that am just a beginner and see how much new stuff there is to learn to improve your skills and stick with your love. This competition made me realize that, though a beginner I have had some good success and that I am not contributing as much as I should have, especially when compared on how much I have received so I promise to improve on that also. So thnx again for everything and enjoy this pictures because they are your success also. I have just now on uploading realized how stoned we were when we were taking these so forgive weird angles and lousy measurement . This is the whole lot. This is the one that pupped in the beginning into two heads and none of them was something like dominante one,I read 5,9 cm. This is the one with the big head and a smaller head that doesnt show on this pic, this is the measurement of the head, I read 4,5 cm. This is the same but with the little head, I read 5,3cm. This is caespitoza that was grafted a bit later, when the peres tower didnt work for me. So thats that for this competition, looking forward to the next one. Peace.

    Grafting Comp- Oct 2007

Hi everybody, here are my contestents, they were growing under lights all the time because winter just passed in my parts, but nevertheless I still think my horses are still runing. This is the first one which has from the very beggining growing with two heads, I ve never seen that a seedling can divide itself in so early stages as this one did and than grow without a dominant grow from one of the heads. on the first and third picture you can see a third head but that is just the one behind them so you dont get confused. This one puped after a while and the pup stayed secundary to its main head. And last the caespitoza which has pupped from every possible spot it could, I really dont know how to measure this one but once you make the rules I will tell you the measures. I am aware that the qouality of the pic is very poor but I only have a camera on my mobile and its only 1.3 mpx with many disatvantages but still I thing it was worth while posting this shitty pics of magnificent plants. I also have a qousetion, all of my peyotles are having this white stuff on them, they grow normally but when a part comes out and when its not a part of the grpwing pale green part it gets cotton-wool on itself. What is this and should I be concerned? Thnx for any help and enjoy yourselves.

    Trichocereus bridgesii

Yeah, I agree looking at pics now that it looks like shit:( but it is my first attempt of growing from and going all the way from dirt(sand mix that is:).I`ve realized that I`ve been giving them way to little water.I`ve never misted them only watered from bottom but never enough. My mix went too dry and the container it was in is way too soft so when i lifted the whole container the dry mix cracked. Now i`ve watered them good and pasted the cracks.I`ve sowed them in September which was also a mistake.Unfortunately I dont have any seasol and cant get any. Anyhow thnx for the advices, they helped me think through the problem and let me see some aspects that I wasnt thinking about before. I`ll brag if they come through. RiÄ.

    Trichocereus bridgesii

Sorry about that.I`ll be more careful next time.Gonna try it out.But what do you think about returning them to humidity?Could they take it or would it kill them, would it maybe enhance growing .I`m asking cause I got some contradictory info on the web.I`ve read somewhere that they keep their new seedling up to 6 months in humiditiy and here you keep them only bout a month. Thnx

    Trichocereus bridgesii

Really cool, apoth I wouldnt say youre on the lower scale, thats only when comparing with passive who has put the scale way up.I also have a go with sowing and growing from earth which really isnt my thing,I`m more of a grafter and it shows.I`ve sowed about 100 seeds at 9th month(30 of bridgesii, pach and peruvian).I`ve put them in sterilised mix of lime, sand and a bit of dirt.I got only bout 10% germination rate .Then I were keeping them in humidity until bout a month ago and all the time they werent growing,I mean three months nothing.About a month ago I`ve removed the humidity bag and put them under a light, still nothing.I`m going crazy.I was thinking about fifty times to just graft them but I would really like to have some ˝natural˝ cactii and learn. Now I was thinking to put them in humidity again while thewy are under light.Would this affect them and can I do this without repercussions??Any suggestions on how to get them started?? This is the 9th month This is yesterday Any suggestions would be appriciated. thnx

    Grafting Comp- Oct 2007

Hi to you all, I have finally borrowed a camera a took a couple of shots of my contestents.I have grafted three instead of one as i was supposed to and it turned out to be my luck. The seedling on my peres tower isnt doing anything. It just stands on it not growing and not drying. The problem was a period of about a month when my cacti werent receiving any artificial light and the climate over here is turning very cold. The whole tower ------------------------------- The top. The seedlings on other two peres, that are three or four times smaller, are growing pretty pretty good. One of them is growing in two directions so I dont know if I should regraft one of them or can I just measure them as one??Please respond to this.Any way here they are in couple of angles. And in the end just a one question. Can I regraft the big one and is it against the rules??The biggest is abou 16mm wide. Iwish all of you good luck with growing and also with this competition. Peace

Fuck yeah this is truly a great prize.I`ve grafted the first seedling on top of my peres tower about 3days ago and I hope it will take on,if it doesnt I will graft others I have in reserve that were all sawed in parameters of the contest.I see that almost everybody will participate with more than one graft but Im putting all my hopes on one huge stock and if all goes well I`ll be the winner buahahahaha:) I`ll borrow a camera when my graft takes so I can post some pics. Good luck to all!!!

    TBM variants

This is one of 3 of my TBMs and the only< one that is currently in grow phase.I love him so much:))
  13. Yeah it is common that it all looks fine and then boom,it falls off but that will eventually change once you get the hang of it.I`m grafting for a year now and still sometimes have problems with grafts felling off.I think that is because your cut either on pere or on the loph wasnt clean and with time that unclean part stayed divided and eventually divided the good part.
