  1. my friend bought some laptops online and watched in the messenger dude throw the box over his side fence which resulted in 2 out of the 4 laptops having cracked screens

    That is just wrong!

  2. Damiana is one of my favorite herbs. I like drinking it as a tea and also for smoking. I would say it's good for relaxation and I've found it can give you a lift if you are a bit down or stressed. As said earlier in the thread it's effects are subtle.

  3. I'm looking for advice in a general sense. It's late in the afternoon and I'm feeling like crap.

What or what sorts of things would you recommend to cure or minimise the effects of a hang over?

Sleep? Herbal remedies? What kind of things would you do or take if you were in my position?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. balancing mixes is something i'm still working on.

i find too many herbs in the mix makes it fuzzy or confusing.

up to 4 or 5 in a few cases is what i aim for.balancing them seems important.

usually its only 2 or 3.

all those plants work a bit at least by themselves,so i'd try just 2 or 3 at first.

    cz/mb or d/bl or d/mb as suggestions.......

    t s t .

Thanks for that that does make sense. Quite often i find i enjoy Calea or Damiana on their own for example. I mix mugwort and calea sometimes as they are both dream related herbs.

  5. I was told by the woman at the local insence store that White Sage is sometimes smoked as a herbal high. I have never heard or read of that before...has anyone ever tried it? Is it safe to use...are there any interesting effects to be had? Worth trying?

  6. Just made up a random mix of herbs that i have lying around...

    Calea Zacatechichi

    Mugwort

    Damiana

    Blue Lotus

    Maconha Brava

    Maconha Brava/Dwarf Scullcap extract

Have had a couple of cones so far and am feeling somewhat bent...interesting..

  7. What is in your current smoking mix?

I thought it would be interesting to see what people are putting in their mixes.

I like to try different combinations of things. My last mix was Lions tail and Damiana.

I am now chopping up some Blue Lotus and Damiana. I'm guessing this will be relaxing.

  8. If you aren't likely to use all those flowers, why not bag them up and sell some for some extra cash?

The foliage can be harsh to smoke and I have only now started to get used to it.

You apparently get better effects from smoking the flowers...selling or smoking the flowers yourself might be the go.

  9. I don't know about you, but this makes me feel very uneasy. I don't like it one bit.

All Australians could be implanted with microchips for tracking and identification within the next two or three generations, a prominent academic says.

Michael G Michael from the University of Wollongong's School of Information Systems and Technology, has coined the term "uberveillance" to describe the emerging trend of all-encompassing surveillance.

"Uberveillance is not on the outside looking down, but on the inside looking out through a microchip that is embedded in our bodies," Dr Michael told ninemsn.

Microchips are commonly implanted into animals to reveal identification details when scanned and similar devices have been used with Alzheimers patients.

US company VeriChip is already using implantable microchips, which store a 16-digit unique identification number, on humans for medical purposes.

"Our focus is on high-risk patients, and our product's ability to identify them and their medical records in an emergency," spokesperson Allison Tomek said.

"We do not know when or if someone will develop an implantable microchip with GPS technology, but it is not an application we are pursuing."

Another form of uberveillance is the use of bracelets worn by dangerous prisoners which use global positioning systems to pinpoint their movements.

But Dr Michael said the technology behind uberveillance would eventually lead to a black box small enough to fit on a tiny microchip and implanted in our bodies.

This could also allow someone to be located in an emergency or for the identification of corpses after a large scale disaster or terrorist attack.

"This black box will then be a witness to our actual movements, words — perhaps even our thoughts —-and play a similar role to the black box placed in an aircraft," he said.

He also predicted that microchip implants and their infrastructure could eliminate the need for e-passports, e-tags, and secure ID cards.

"Microchipping I think will eventually become compulsory in the context of identification within the frame of national security," he said.

Although uberveillance was only in its early phases, Dr Michael's wife, Katina Michael — a senior lecturer from UOW's School of Information Systems and Technology — said the ability to track and identify any individual was already possible.

"Anyone with a mobile phone can be tracked to 15m now," she said, pointing out that most mobile phone handsets now contained GPS receivers and radio frequency identification (RFID) readers.

"The worst scenario is the absolute loss of human rights," she said.

Wisconsin, North Dakota and four other states in the US have already outlawed the use of enforced microchipping.

"Australia hasn't got specific regulations addressing these applications," she said.

"We need to address the potential for misuse by amending privacy laws to ensure personal data protection."

Uberveillance has been nominated for Macquarie Dictionary's Word of the Year 2008.

  10. Spice Gold was great fun while it lasted but I don't think I could buy it again because the cat is out of the bag as to why it works so well. It has been proven there is an illegal ingredient where previously I (and many others) were buying and enjoying in good faith thinking Spice was just a few herbs thrown together that somehow synergised. Even though the Oz supplier I used to purchase from may stock it again I won't be going back. I managed to get some of that Yucutan Fire to try and found it to be potent working so well that I found it unenjoyable. One thing that was a bit suss was there seemed to be a light brown chalky substance in there..hmmm. The old Spice Gold was pretty good but who knows what chemicals they might add next. I'm glad they didn't slip anything more sinister in under the radar.
