Where I live (Nth QLD) HBWR thrive. They tend to do well in tropical climates. I don't know how well growing will work south of QLD though I've heard they still go in the northern part of NSW. Maybe someone more knowledgable can confirm?

In my personal growing experience for HBWR, I scratched each individual seed the soaked them in water for a bit before potting them in seed raising mix. I left them in full sunlight till germination. Success rate for germination was 4/6. Once sprouted I repotted in potting mix then took them to a more forgiving area (partial shade) untill they got established. Now they are quite hardy in full sun. My biggest mistake with the grow was trying to grow them to maturity in big buckets. I believe this has stunted their growth. I should have planted them directly into the ground.

If lawmakers were honest they would ban alcohol. They don't because they enjoy drinking it. If someone were to survey all the kava users in this country I think you would find those who abuse it to be in the minority.

Would you mind sharing your findings re the irreversible side effect please? What is the side effect? It would be beneficial for the info to be out in the open. I tried googling it but found nothing. Thanks.

Makes sense. If I take a half tab after waiting two days I should be alright.

I have to go on Xanax for a few days. I have Damiana, Skullcap, Wormwood, Wild Opium Lettuce, Passion Flower, Valerian, Lions Tail and Mugwort in my system. How long should I wait to start my course of medication? I'd like to have these out of my system to avoid any unpleasant interactions. Thanks in advance.

Please explain your comment further it went over my head. I am planning on getting sedative/tranquillizer herb chemicals out of my system before going on xanax...question is how long should I wait before starting my course of medication..?

That's pathetic. Why are they pointing the finger at Kava when it's alcohol that is the real problem?

Looking for an easily obtainable, legal smoking mix that will help me get to sleep. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Currently Mugwort and Damiana are my sleeping herbs of choice but I welcome any useful suggestions people may have.

Was browsing some photos in my friend's facebook and stumbled across some interesting mushroom pics. I'd be interested to know what they are. I think one could be fly agaric but I'm not sure.Photo's were taken in Bright which I'm assuming is somewhere in the UK. Whatever type they are, they look great.

Homebrewing is cool. It's fun,satisfying and good for the wallet though just as bad for the liver.

Wouldnt boiling the herbs sufficiently kill the bacteria? Or do you mean by using the vodka method you can preserve the Blue Lotus compounds? This brewing idea of adding ethno herbs has got me interested in Blue Lotus again...had some ages ago, never bought any more. I look forward to giving this a go.

This makes sense. My latest batch that is currently in the final stages was the first in which I used additional Hops (Cluster Hops in this case). It came in teabag form with the instruction of 10 minutes in boiling water before adding...possibly to kill bacteria and wild yeasts as you say. The herbs I add will be minimal for the first batch. Mugwort I've heard was the Beer herb of choice before Hops became most common, I enjoy this herb in tea as I do Damiana. I'm told Blue Lotus works well with alcohol. I might make a teabag infusion or boil and throw the herbs in directly. I am looking forward to try this brew and also try and make a Blonde beer in the style of Hoegaarden. Apparently Coriander and orange zest is added to the mix in addition to the regular steps.

Have only recently started brewing at home and think adding some of my favorite herbs would be a great way to personalise my brews. Can someone answer this: What is the way to add herbs...do you add it straight to the fermenter or make some sort of tea bag? If herbs are added straight to fermenter would that be bad for my batch? Herbs up for consideration at this point are Mugwort and Damiana...maybe Blue Lotus.

Surely alcohol poses a much greater threat than Kava. Why they got to ban the import of Kava? This sucks.

I fully respect your position, however I have a different view. Smoking is my retirement plan.

I don't support the idea giving an animal any sort of mind altering substance. It might freak them out and it may even kill your pet. Animals are different from humans and may react differently to the drug in question. Any intake of a psychoactive should be voluntary not pushed upon people or animals.

Psychadelics, if were to take them, are the sort of thing I would do occasionally but not often. With the freely available alcohol I'm the first to admit that I find myself too frunk to duck a bit too regularly for my wellbeing and general health and I need to tone down. Moderation is the go...enjoy it more and its better for one's health.

I had taken Valium a couple of weeks earlier for a medical condition but was pretty much alright when I tried it. I used a chillum and I mixed a small part of the block with some Damiana. It was like I was inhaling plastic into my lungs and it didnt agree with me so I discontinued use. I had previously used real hashish a few years ago with no adverse reactions. Maybe the smoking method (ie small chillum pipe) was wrong but it definitely didnt agree with me.

I tried the "cant believe its not Hashish" and got really bad nausea and breathing troubles for a couple of hours. I threw the rest out...that particular product is not for me.

I am currently in the process of experimenting to find different flavoring for my smoking mixes. Have tried lavender so far and some kitchen herbs from the pantry (with nothing to write home about). The lavendar was OK. I'd be interested in some suggestions please.
