Hi Teonanacatl,
Sorry to bring up an old thread. Do you know what the cause of this 'limbo' is?, is there a way to avoid it? I have an ario grafted on pere that isn't plump, yet not shrivelled either; it's been like this for 2 weeks!
Thank you,
Hey McGrath , Consider this "2 week limbo" as a recalibration period for the peres and the scion. It can be months though.
There is no way to avoid it but I have found that some types "take" faster than others.
I have found it better to do a good amount of grafts as some will not take for you. Especially when getting started.

Per Rodni this cross is from two fruits so it's probably two type's!
Looking forward to guessing ID what the father(s) may be.

Do we know exacly where the "legendary Ogun clone" cuttings came from in Matucana?
-
Also, how many cuts of Ogun were tested?
I think at this point we need new test from 5-10 different cuts. (Wishful thinking on my part)

I would not reccomend Eileen x SS02 unless you are ready for the challenge.
Out of 40 seeds i will have 6 coming into adulthood.

I'm germing some now and using a basic ratio for torches.
2 parts filtered top/potting soil
1 part chicken grit
1 part diatomacious earth (coarse)

Rodni & Co. Are my new favorite vendor. They are friendly people and answered my questions.
Two thumbs up from me.

A couple of months is way too long. The norm is 7-10 days to see signs of life.

Ogun was the subject of a single analysis, for a study exploring this very issue. It showed high levels of alks. But as for many hype clones, they're too valuable for experimenting with. Most people plan to sell a couple first, just to recoup the crazy money they spent on it. Can take years before someone decides to take the plunge with their hard-earned $$hype$$. So we may not know for a while. Plus people can make up bullshit rumors too, so who knows what to believe sometimes.
The thing about Ogun is the cuttings were held for one year prior to testing.

I found orchid clips to be too big for the job. Try using dental floss instead.
