This. I have a fair bit of trouble with animals, or at least did. Rats and mice eat everything, possums like to sample a bit of everything here and there and king parrots love green tomatoes! I live kinda outer-urban / semi-rural fringe and so was (still am?) pretty conflicted about using baits due the risk of secondary kills of owls, pythons etc, but I just had to. Always loved the vege garden at the old place but didn't garden here for a while due being despondent about losing the constant battle with wildlife. I have raised beds, use low secondary kill baits sparingly and tight bird netting sealing to the edges of the garden. Still had problems with rats and mice though. Worked out they were tunnelling up through the bed, I assume nesting in the bed as well. The solution (I hope, been working for a few months now so I think I got it), was to dig out part of my garden bed, lay a physical barrier of overlapping chicken / bird wire and put my soil back on top. No issues since and not having to use baits at all near / in the garden anymore. Haven't caught any possums or reptiles in the bird netting either.

So the NL khat I up-potted about 8 weeks ago and have been daily placing on the deck railing in the sun and putting under cover at night, got chewed off at the base, every sucker and shoot, by a cockatoo this morning. Was looking fantastic too, had put on some size, new suckers, beautiful tips. Really annoyed. I made cuttings within 10 minutes or so of it occurring, but I dunno how good I am with that. First time for everything I guess

She lives! And maybe, just maybe, a couple of the cuts I made might night be too.

That sucks man, sorry

I'm keen and will try, but shouldn't be counted on, got stuff to do...

Yeah, no doubt WC. Two of them have been frequent visitors for years and bring their young too. They didn't breed last year, or the young didn't survive or something. So I got complacent because they've never done anything like it before, and I got it interested by moving the plant in and out. They are very intelligent birds, and curious. I've never kept a cockatoo, but had a rainbow lorikeet for 20 odd years and parrots are amazing companions.

I should be able to make it. Will be packing for a week on the beach at Mulgumpin, but should be able to make time

Yeah the tray pic is a duplicate, thought I'd edited it out...and yep, also cyans. And the other phot isn't great for IDing either. You are much more learned on the subject than me, but not cubes I reckon; white veil remnant and white gills? I've never picked cubes because I've never had anyone to show me and I always err on the side of caution because even when I find one that I think might be a winner, I talk myself out of it due to some perceived flaw.

Finally had enough rain at my place to go foraging! Heaps of mushrooms about, but not so many of the type I was looking for. If anyone knows what some of the other varieties are, I'd be keen to know. Some were in my front yard.

Hey man. Can you point me to somewhere I can learn about what I missed out on? I've done a search for NLK on this site and outside but can't work out what the acronym is? While you're at it, I could only find Shipibo referenced as a people / culture? Thanks

Either suits me. Good Friday is good too

There's some near me man https://watercresscreekolivesandlimes.com.au/ I've no experience with them. There's another mob near Crows Nest. Can't remember their name and never been to the farm, but a deli I used to go to sold their smoked olives and they were fantastic
