    In light of poetry

A single mother and her love for her only son is as holy as this night's gunna get! Cocooned together they sleep. Next door i weep, years worth of sadness. Heavy for all that is lost. I pray when they wake that they do not want for more.

    Astronomy

Any would be astronomers out there? Im very much a novice, however I thought perhaps we can share our observations and upcoming alerts of cool stellar events? I also thought it might be interesting to discuss traditional indigenous knowledge, and folklore about the heavens. Jupiter and Saturn are close at the moment and are well visible in the early night sky. Jupiter is probably the brightest star in the east atm, just to the right of it is Saturn. Last night through my tiny 70mm scope i could clearly see Jupiters storm bands and 3 of its moons. Saturns rings also are clearly visible. Good times and happy stargazing H. https://www.theplanetstoday.com/
  9. Hi @Rhyzobium, hope things have been good. Q. did you have success with using innoculant for germinating A.phlebophylla? Did you use hot or cold stratification prior to applying?

    Alternatives to this place?

On the plus side, (regards trading) maybe a more reliable, smaller core of people is a good thing. Less bum trades

Hi Ethereal, Ive had a few buses and bugs. Are you a kombi clubber? Maybe my favourite was a Beryl green 61 Type1. It had a 1200 motor and everything that could go wrong did, so consequently I learnt alot from that car. Should never have sold it. My 1st however was an orange 76 bus which i owned thoughout my 20's. Had loads of fun in that, in some ways im guilty of trying to recapture those times. Ive had a T3 camper, previously owned by a German dentist. It went on a boat to Europe for a holiday and got fitted out with great stuff, fridge, stove, air con, front seat hammock. Was apparently in a road trip movie called Ceduna Ive never seen the movie but i did find a script under the seat. When i ripped the floor up i could feel the sense of one mans love. He cried when he sold it. Now Ive a 75 microbus 2lt. I bought it sight unseen from ebay. Flew to Broken Hill and drove it back to melbs. Wasn't going real good 10kms down the road until i bought a nail file. Freshened up the points and barrelled home with fuck all steering. In late '18 i did a valve so replaced the cam and all the bottom end, put on new heads, resurrected the carbs. The machinist had it for an eternity, so i used that time to fix up all body, running gear, new seals, lines, door cards, sound proofing. I sold the seats for a packet which funded all the engine parts. Now its pretty squeaky and has finally settled into being a good runner. I put in a rock n roll bed but decided against decking it out any more. Portable stoves and fridges are easy and having all that room is handy. A while ago i wanted to sell it for an electric car but I've always regretted selling my vw's. The Kids and dogs love them too. The colour is Bronco brown apparently dulux were commissioned to do Aussie colours for the 76 Olympics. Ive always assumed it was inspired by Uluru. We go camping in it mostly, but i try to drive it every week. Although im a bit over spending my time underneath them after 30 odd years I've never tired of the feeling of driving Vws. All up Ive had 3 buses and 3 bugs (though 2 never made it on the road), coincidentally all three buses cost $8k, all bugs $4k. Sadly many pics are gone by the by with old phones and pc's, but heres some of the current one.

Check out Mikaela Davis @11:55, is an amazing talent. At times she looks like she doesn't now where Bobs going, i expect neither does he. Regardless, Bobby holds it together in this one. Despite not being a great guitarist or singer he must be commended at surviving the SF scene. Maybe thats why these great muso's are queuing up. Robert Hunters songs are now part of American music tradition imo.

    Bracing for the US election...

One of the 1st rats to go seems to be Rupert Murdoch.

    Bracing for the US election...

That's about the size of it. Win or lose Trump will remain a devisive stone in the shoe. I hoping that apathy will temper any full scale civil war but fear that blood will be spilt. A messy transition will harm the US further, its international standing as the seat of democracy is already a joke. Im a little surprised he didn't start a pre election conflict (Bush and Iraq) in somewhere like Iran to garner a war time sense of unity and purpose. I'm very anxious about the environmental and geo-political repercussions of 4 more years of Trump. Will we even survive it?

    Predict the future

It's a crazy ole world, the future is anyones guess. So lets nail our predictions up and see who's on the money. The funny, bleak, bizzare and the painfully obvious, lets hear them. The title of SABstradamus awaits.

    Donating for SAB costs

Perhaps not having the counter reset has led to the drop in donations? Nice work Glakus. I might sell a few natives/ cacti out the front.
