    Sick green catha

So my catha has been going downhill slowly. The new growth is yellowing and looking a little stunted and some of the leaves are slightly curled. Its been suggested that its iron deficiency, ive given it a couple of feeds or seasol and thrive but it hasnt responded really. Its getting enough sun too. Any help appreciated

    Sick green catha

Mmhmmm thanks for your input I havn't obsessed over anything thanks quite the opposite actually, I just tried to provide as much info as I could. What ever I've done was over a good period of time and only according to sypmtoms presented and on the advice of people who have a good knowledge on the matter. Its a few years old and it did have mites, you could see the oil that settled on the little threads they left all over the plant. But as I said, it's bouncing back now and hopefully things stay that way. Cheers Unfortunately im mot able to put it in the ground where I am at the moment either as im in a rental. The best I could do would be a larger pot which it probably needs and probably contributed to its health problems. And ive moved it into a different area away from some other neglected plants that are on the way out, strawberries, raspberries, cherry tomatoes etc.

Its on the mend now, turns out id did have mites and my eyes are just bad lol. Hit it with a lil pest oil and is greening back up and the new growth isnt as retarded. Hopefully things keep getting better.

    Good ol' Acacia ID

Hey mate, saw you havnt had a reply in a while, so heres my 2c (better than nothing right :P)... not sure about them being floribunda, The phyllodes are very spaced out along the branch. And on a couple of the phyllodes there, it looks like there may be little glands (indents near the base of the phyllode on one side) on them, that floribunda does not have. Although im probably not the best person to be getting accurate ID's from as i havnt been at it very long. This is a snippet of what has been identified as floribunda around my area (Tas) from another enthusiast, (could also be incorrect lol) Notice no phyllode glands, and much more compact spacing between phyllodes) *Colour could differ as this specimen has been in the freezer.

    Mutant? Or just different

They are labled on the back as Azureocereus hertlingiana. Looking at google images for both names they both look like the lumpier one moreso than the smoother one
  23. Hi all. So theres a few 'Azure torch' cacti at work. They all look the same really except one thats a little bit more 'lumpy' The left one is the lumpy one and the other is growing like the rest of the Azure torches. Was thinking ill grab it just because it seems a lil unusual compared to the others, but im wondering if it will keep the same growth pattern or smooth out like the others with time. Im hoping the lumpyness will become even more pronounced. Cheers

    Bulk take away tek

If ya need a large take away container, the catering size containers from subway should do the trick!
  25. Was told by another acacia enthusiast that the nectar does something to the ants, making the acacia nectar the only foodsource for them. Not sure if its actually true or what but interesting none the less.
