    Is This Asbestos?

Hello. I greet you in the Love and in the Light. I would like to know for certain if this sheet cladding is in fact asbestos. I've looked online but I'm not confident of my own appraisal. Any assistance from an expert of sorts would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks in advance. Infinite Love & Light ∞

    PictureThis - Plant ID App

Welcome! I greet you in the love and in the light. I came across an app that I think could be quite useful for those that wish to identify unknown plants. It's called PictureThis - Plant Identifier To use it you simply snap a decent photo of the unknown plant, upload it and within seconds the app narrows it down to the top possible matches. Failing that you can submit the photo to horticultural experts who can help ID it for you and add it to the database. I've tested it and doesn't have a 100% accuracy but for most common plants it nails it almost every time. No doubt the app will get better and better as time goes on and more people submit photos. I hope someone find this useful. Until next time my friends. Infinite Love & Light ∞

    Ficus Religiosa

Welcome! I greet you in the Love and in the Light. Today I'm talking about how to grow Ficus Religiosa from seed. BACKGROUND Ficus Religiosa, also known as the Bodhi Tree or Sacred Fig is a species of fig native to the Indian subcontinent. The trees feature oversized, intertwined, gnarly root systems that are partially visible above ground. Ficus Religiosa trees are considered sacred. Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment while sitting under one. The leaves of this tree move continuously even when the air around is still and no perceptible wind is blowing. Ficus Religiosa also serves as an important source of medicine. The various parts of the plants like stem, bark, fruits, buds and latex are used in the treatment of different diseases like dysentery, mumps, jaundice, heart diseases, diabetes, constipation and skin problems. HOW TO GROW FICUS RELIGIOSA FROM SEED Step 1 Take great care in selecting fertile Ficus Religiosa seeds from a reputable source. Buy only fresh seeds as Ficus Religiosa has a short viability shelf life of approximately 6 months. Step 2 Prepare a custom growing mixture using Seed Raising Mix, Sand, Vermiculite and Perlite at the ratio of 5 : 1 : 1 : 1. Blend the growing medium thoroughly. Step 3 Fill propagation trays with the custom growing medium. Place the Ficus Religiosa seeds on top of the soil. Lightly sprinkle some sand over them to bind them in place but do not cover the seeds. Light is required to germinate these seeds. Covering the seeds will result in failure. Step 4 Put a plastic lid over the tray. Place the tray in a place that receives strong morning sunlight only. Take the lids off for a few minutes each day to allow fresh oxygen to reach the seeds. Use a spray bottle to lightly mist the trays if they start to dry out. Keep the mix lightly damp for approximately 2-3 weeks until you see the seedlings appear. Step 5 After 90 days the Ficus Religiosa seedlings will be mature enough to be transplanted into larger containers or out in the garden. QUESTIONS If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Until next time my friends. Infinite Love & Light ∞

I need suggestions for a memorial tree

I've been trying to reply for ages but keep getting timed out. Very frustrating. I'm guessing others are in the same boat. I love this idea. That's an extremely rare plant. I think a Woolemi Pine would make a perfect choice and very fitting. I was going to suggest Araucaria Bidwillii aka the Bunya Nut Tree These trees are absolutely massive. I was told a story that when the tree becomes an adult it drops a considerable amount of football sized cones full of Bunya Nuts on a cycle of once every 3 years around March. This abundant fruiting event brought together tribes from near and far for a corroboree that included a feast on the prized Bunya Nut. The taste has been likened to a cross between roasted chestnut and macadamia nut. As a legacy to Christian I thought perhaps we could time a camp out once every 3 years that coincided with that fruiting event. Our own corroboree to pay tribute to those that have passed.
  15. No I don't unfortunately. I quickly realised that orchid flasking is outside of my experience level. I would hate to see these rare seeds go to waste in a failed attempt while trying to learn. I completely understand. If it's okay with you I'll just give these seeds to you at no cost. If you have any luck propagating them perhaps you could just send me some baby ones back. Alternatively any other sacred plants/cactus/seeds would also be fine with me. Anything but money. I felt so dirty asking for it in the first place.
