    The therapists chair.

High Chiral & Andrew, It may not be that good for in a garden setting, but a good way to get rid of Nothoscordum gracile aka "Onion Weed" growing in lawns is to Find where leaves emerge from the ground and dribble machine oil onto them so that it coats & smothers the bulbs to death. Burkes backyard site mentions A few drops of turps down the centre will knock it over for keeps. From another messge board " Onion weed loves superphosate If you feed it with superphosate the bulb will expand until it bursts killing the plant" Removing the tops before they set seed will help. Wick or blanket applicators and sponge gloves using 5 g metsulfuron(600g/kg) or 500 mL glyphosate(450g/L) plus 2.5 mL wetting agent per litre of water are useful in sensitive areas or over legume based pastures. Other than removing the top 8 inches or so of top soil they are a prick to get rid of, Persistance is the key! I Will see what else I can find on the subject an post it here.

    Miniature Wisteria!

Hello Folks, I wonder if anyone here can help me out? I have been working in the garden of an elderly friend of the family for about the last week or two. In the process of weeding I accidentally pulled out and disposed of some saplings of the poor old ladys favourite plant, Which was a Miniature Wisteria! I would greatly appreciate it if anyone here had some seeds or cuttings of this plant that they would like to trade? Or can point me in the right direction of a cheap source for this plant as well as I have very little funds! This is an urgent matter as this plant means a lot to this dear old Lady. Thankyou in advance, Mojo!

Gravity Probe - was Einstein right about gravity? On April 20, 2004, a small spacecraft set out on a giant quest… to answer one of the fundamental questions of our universe. This is the extraordinary Gravity Probe B mission. Beset by funding cancellations, fire and failure - it’s the longest single experiment ever conducted by NASA. Computing the environmental cost of land management. Explores the use of scientific modelling to put a dollar value on Land Management. Nature’s answer to radioactive waste. Uranium Minerals Ever since the first nuclear power station was commissioned, the storage of radioactive waste has been a contentious issue. Ben: Diary Of A Heroin Addict

Also, In case anyone missed this. Alex James: The Cocaine Diaries! http://www.abc.net.au/tv/guide/abc2/200906...2009T212700.htm In this very personal documentary, former cocaine addict Alex James, bassist of Britpop band Blur, travels to Colombia at the invitation of the Colombian president to see first-hand what the cocaine industry is doing to the country and its people. Colombia now accounts for 62 percent of the world's cocaine production, a trade the UN estimates to be worth USD70 billion (AUD94.8 billion) worldwide. Cocaine has overtaken coffee as Colombia's top export, producing over 610 tonnes a year. Now clean, Alex has turned his talents to farming and making cheese, so as a farmer as well as a former addict, this visit is both interesting and poignant for him. Once in Colombia, with near-unrestricted access, Alex meets the farmers, the sellers and the enforcers. He visits an anti-narcotics base where the Colombian military are overseeing the chemical spraying of hundreds of hectares of coca plantation and workers are pulling up the plants by hand - a job fraught with danger since the plantations are often landmined and the workers shot. He visits makeshift labs where the coca leaves are made into base cocaine, and he spends time with a dealer and a hit man who tell him their business - mostly drug related - is good. Shortly after, it transpires, the hit man is himself murdered. Alex admits he spent a million pounds (AUD2.02 million) on cocaine and alcohol during the height of Blur's fame, a fact that is put into sharp perspective when he finds out that a gram of cocaine sells on the Colombian streets for just one pound (AUD2.02) and is the cause of 17,000 murders every year in Colombia. Has anyone got a link to Download for this, All i can find is the Iview thingy on the ABC2 site! Cheers, MOJO.

News: Meth addicts can't read faces

http://www.virtualmedicalcentre.com/news.asp?artid=13692 Meth addicts can't read faces. Methamphetamine abusers find it hard to read expressions on people's faces and therefore struggle to detect emotion in others, a new joint study at Australian Catholic University (ACU National) has found. Dr Peter Rendell, Associate Professor of Psychology at ACU National, postgraduate student Magdalena Mazur and Julie Henry from the University of NSW tested 20 adults with an average history of four years of methamphetamine (MA) abuse on measures of social reasoning. These 20 adults were screened from more than 100 MA users who had been formally diagnosed with MA dependence, were not dependent on any other drug and did not have a medical condition. Compared with a control group who had no history of drug use, the group who had used MA had greater difficulty detecting subtle differences in mental states and differentiating between basic facial expressions of emotion. Dr Rendell said that recognising emotion on people's faces and understanding that others think about things differently to you are two of the most important aspects of social-thinking. "Being so significant to social-thinking, we wanted to see whether MA users were impaired in these specific thought processes – and they clearly were," he said. "We therefore know that MA use has psychological consequences, and, potentially, consequences for these individuals' social functioning. "The size of these social reasoning deficits was comparable to the memory problems that have also been found in users of MA, consistent with other evidence showing that MA is a dangerous drug which can do lasting harm." The study was published recently in the British Journal of Clinical Psychology. "An interesting point to also consider is the possibility that these deficits could have been present before drug use and even a risk factor for drug use – meaning those who struggle to make sense of other people might be more vulnerable to taking drugs in the first place." Catalyst ABC >On now<

http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/2583478.htm This is on ABC1 Now - 8:00PM Thursday 4th. Inca Trails - Dingos - Gouldian Finches (04/06/2009) Uncovering the ancient Inca roads of South America - Australia’s clandestine conservationist: the dingo! - Gouldian Finches choosing the sex of their chicks Inca Trails The Inca Empire could not have succeeded without good communications and good roads. Today a proposal for World Heritage Listing of the entire network has to be backed up by archaeological research. Dr Paul Willis sets out on the Inca Trail with a group of Australian archaeologists. Dingos Hidden away in the Blue Mountains a family of multicoloured dingos has been tagged with GPS satellite equipment. Jonica Newby ventures out bush to discover the truth about the secret life of our dingo. Gouldian Finches For the female Gouldian Finch, mating with a male of the wrong head colour is disastrous for her offspring - very few will reach sexual maturity. But scientists from Macquarie University have discovered an extraordinary defence. If forced into a mismatch, female Gouldians can “decide” the sex of their offspring, resulting in a higher survival rate. http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/2583478.htm

    First Time Outdoor grown1

Hi poo, You say your in the first stages, It sounds similar to what happened with me. The Growth slowed down and wasnt spreading any further than seen in pic #1. I am thinking its because the myc doesnt have any goodness coming from the cardboard that I used, as it spread from its original source of natural organic food? I used the inside surface of a Tooheys Red 30 Block Packaging. This was the stage when I transplanted the "BeerBox" Cardboard into Brown Corragated cardboard from a Television Box, that was Split down the middle to expose the corragation then soaked over night in Boiled Sterile water. The Myc was then sandwiched in between the 2 layers along with the original Ground Material & some newer More advanced Colonised Eucalypt Matter. Then I just progressed from that point! Just keep Upgrading & Improving on the mycs enviroments along the lines of the method I have used> Dont Add any nutrients as this will likely kill the Myc! Its pretty fragile when just exposed in this "wild" manner of tech! Although, I also say that with these sort of Outdoor techs, The more simple you can get & just letting it do its own thing is also the best way to go! Its all about experimentation! Trial and Error are the best ways to learn these things & sometimes things just go freaky & run amok Sorry if This post seems a bit over the place, I am Slightly effected by alcohol After a few to many after dinner wines
