    Australia! Five days, five cities, From Shock to Awe is coming to you. Presented by the Australian Psychedelic Society, the film is going to be screened in Byron Bay, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by DMT: The Spirit Molecule director, Mitch Schultz and War Veteran/PRISM Co-founder, Steve McDonald. Join us in spreading the message and bringing awareness to the global plight of post-traumatic stress disorder and the various modalities of plant-based healing that are just now becoming available to our long-suffering veterans.

    From Shock to Awe asks, ‘how do we heal our deepest wounds?’ An intimate and raw look at the transformational journey of two combat veterans suffering from severe trauma as they abandon pharmaceuticals to seek relief through the mind-expanding world of psychedelics

    Hey folks - just plugging our next event 'From Shock to Awe' in the local channels. It's a great film and will be followed be an even greater panel discussion and Q&A with producer Mitch Schultz (Director of 'DMT The Spirit Molecule' ) and PRISM's Steve McDonald. There really are limited seats so get your tickets soon ! Hope to see y'all there :)

Following the film there will be a Q&A with Mitch Schultz, the film’s Transmedia Producer and Major Steve McDonald, an Australian war veteran who utilised psychedelic medicines to successfully treat his depression and PTSD.

    The film follows veterans, Matt Kahl and Mike Cooley, through their challenging post-war lives, shattered by the trauma of war. It also explores the impact on their wives, Aimee and Brooke. The vets struggle with anxiety, fear, depression, anger, unable to find equilibrium with society and with their families. After confronting death multiple times, our heroes set out on a journey to treat their mental illness with Ayahuasca and MDMA. “I tried everything...all the medications, EMDR, exposure therapy, talk therapy, group therapy and the truth is, none of it worked. It was ruining my family,” says Veteran Matt Kahl. Brooke Cooley goes further stating, “Ayahuasca and MDMA saved me, my husband and my family. Had psychedelic therapy not come into our lives, not only would Mike and I be divorced, but there is a solid chance that one or both of us wouldn’t be alive.”

    Entheogenic Gardener - I have purchased pretty much everything left on the list; and  I think the Scientific American Edition was in there too. If it means a lot to you as a collectable I am happy to pas this one on to you as I was mostly after the books anyway.

    This thread just popped up while I was searching for something not unrelated....and I recall reading it back when I was also seeking access to ceremonies in this country, so remember following it closely.

     

    It really made me reflect though, how different (and to some extent the same) things are now, with 'shamanic' style ceremonies being advertised openly on Facebook, pretty much every mainstream media outlet in the West reporting on the positive results emerging from the burgeoning psychedelic research coming from overseas and now starting in Australia, and also what a simple google search for [insert medicine you seek} and [insert country you live in] will reveal now !

    Hey Sydney folks ! Come and check out the first of the Psychoactive Research Seminar Series this Friday July 26th, hosted by The Students for Sensible Drug Policy Society at the University of New South Wales and The Australian Psychedelic Society-Sydney 

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Speakers include: Dr Marika Heblinski, who will be exploring the effects of cannabis in treating childhood epilepsy, Professor Mark Connor, who will also be looking into cannabinoid research, and Dr Dean Wright, who will be examining the neuroscience and therapeutic use of psychedelic substances.

    Hey All !

     

    The Australian Psychedelic Society-Melbourne is heading to the hills once again to talk all things mushroom!

    Winter means mushroom foraging for a growing number of Victorians seeking culinary delights, mycological intrigue or psychedelic venture. But those seeking psychedelic venture have also been the target of authorities for a number of decades.

    For Western Australians, a small southern regional town has been the battleground between shroomers, authorities and locals for a number of decades.

    Fungimentary: The Magic Mushrooms of Balingup is an award winning Australian made documentary, first broadcast on SBS in 1995 looking into this strange stand-off.
    We've had the film re-mastered and are bringing it to the big screen in Belgrave, in the historic Cinema 1, first built in the 1930's.

    Following the film, we'll be taking a look at some of the themes that were raised and looking at what has and especially what hasn't changed since the documentary was made in the mid-90's.
    Panelists to be announced.

    For those looking for some hands-on experience, we'll be holding a workshop next door at the Inspiro Communiy Hub (the one with the mushrooms out the front, of course) on mushroom cultivation and identification.
    Our experts will guide you through the cultivation process so you can start growing your own culinary mushrooms at home and teach you how to properly identify mushrooms in the wild, so you can find the mushrooms you're looking for and look after the environment that you're in too.

    We'll be running two sessions of the workshop, one in the morning and one in the evening. Spaces are limited, so book quick!

    Just because it's such a beautiful plant and many members  here seek to grow it... I thought I'd let all you good folks here know that EntheoBotanica have seed in stock at the moment at a fantastic price and I'd love to see as many people growing it as possible (so don't be too greedy and buy them all ...just get enough seeds so that every one can grow a few healthy seedlings and eventually trees).

    Don't miss the next Australian Psychedelic Society-Sydney event - it's going to be a good one :)

     

    It is our pleasure to present the eruditely-outspoken David Nickles as well as several local speakers (a couple some of you may recognise from here).

     

    The afternoon will be focussed on DMT, Ayahuasca and how psychedelics in general fit into our cultural focus on DMT, Ayahuasca and how psychedelics intersect with modern Western sociocultural, political and economic contexts.
