  2. Hey Sydneysiders, The next APS-Sydney event will be an afternoon tackling the dark side of psychedelics. We will be hosting an afternoon with the insightful James W. Jesso, Canadian author, public speaker, and podcast host in the psychedelic field. This talk will provide a conceptual framework for understanding bad trips: where they come from, what it means/takes to rehabilitate, and what the culture gets wrong about them from Jesso's unique blend of spirituality, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and interpersonal neurobiology. The lecture will offer some context for 'bad trips' that enables a healthy and helpful approach to the wounding and challenges that come with them. WHEN: Sunday, 27 October 2019 from 12:30-16:30 pm WHERE: Mothership Studios, Marrickville, 18-22 Sydney st, Marrickville, Sydney 2204, TICKETS: $20-$25

    Courtii Seed

Just because it's such a beautiful plant and many members here seek to grow it... I thought I'd let all you good folks here know that EntheoBotanica have seed in stock at the moment at a fantastic price and I'd love to see as many people growing it as possible (so don't be too greedy and buy them all ...just get enough seeds so that every one can grow a few healthy seedlings and eventually trees). https://www.entheo-botanica.org/product-page/acacia-courtii-seed-nsw-northern-three-brother-wattle

To celebrate yesterday's Wattle Day I'd like to continue the tradition that Communacacian started last year by giving away 50 seeds to the first 10 members to reply here (5 each). Simply reply below and PM me your address The condition of requesting that each person receiving and germinating seed, gives away a successfully raised seedling to another member of the forum (or even the Facebook group) also applies due to the threatened status of this acacia species and scarcity of seed. Meet up: Brisbane

Hi Brisbane folks - just plugging the next APS event; a national screening of the award winning documentary 'From Shock to Awe' in the local SAB-Corroboree channels. It's a great film and we will be having an even greater panel discussion and Q&A with producer Mitch Schultz (Director of 'DMT The Spirit Molecule' ) and PRISM's Steve McDonald. There really are limited seats so get your tickets soon ! The award-winning documentary, ‘From Shock to Awe’ shines light on the use of cutting-edge psychedelic medicines to treat mental illness in war veterans. The Australian Psychedelic Society (APS) is premiering the documentary across Australia with a panel of guest speakers, thanks to sponsorship from Vasudhara, Psychedelic Research in Science & Medicine (PRISM) and Aadii Mesh Foundation. The film follows veterans, Matt Kahl and Mike Cooley, through their challenging post-war lives, shattered by the trauma of war. It also explores the impact on their wives, Aimee and Brooke. The vets struggle with anxiety, fear, depression, anger, unable to find equilibrium with society and with their families. After confronting death multiple times, our heroes set out on a journey to treat their mental illness with Ayahuasca and MDMA. “I tried everything...all the medications, EMDR, exposure therapy, talk therapy, group therapy and the truth is, none of it worked. It was ruining my family,” says Veteran Matt Kahl. Brooke Cooley goes further stating, “Ayahuasca and MDMA saved me, my husband and my family. Had psychedelic therapy not come into our lives, not only would Mike and I be divorced, but there is a solid chance that one or both of us wouldn’t be alive.” EVENT DETAILS BRISBANE: Saturday 24th August, 1.30pm Kindler Theatre, QUT, Brisbane Facebook event. 20. Hey All ! The Australian Psychedelic Society-Melbourne is heading to the hills once again to talk all things mushroom! Winter means mushroom foraging for a growing number of Victorians seeking culinary delights, mycological intrigue or psychedelic venture. But those seeking psychedelic venture have also been the target of authorities for a number of decades. For Western Australians, a small southern regional town has been the battleground between shroomers, authorities and locals for a number of decades. Fungimentary: The Magic Mushrooms of Balingup is an award winning Australian made documentary, first broadcast on SBS in 1995 looking into this strange stand-off. We've had the film re-mastered and are bringing it to the big screen in Belgrave, in the historic Cinema 1, first built in the 1930's. Following the film, we'll be taking a look at some of the themes that were raised and looking at what has and especially what hasn't changed since the documentary was made in the mid-90's. Panelists to be announced. For those looking for some hands-on experience, we'll be holding a workshop next door at the Inspiro Communiy Hub (the one with the mushrooms out the front, of course) on mushroom cultivation and identification. Our experts will guide you through the cultivation process so you can start growing your own culinary mushrooms at home and teach you how to properly identify mushrooms in the wild, so you can find the mushrooms you're looking for and look after the environment that you're in too. We'll be running two sessions of the workshop, one in the morning and one in the evening. Spaces are limited, so book quick! Date and Time Sat 20th Jul, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm Location Cameo Cinemas 1628 Burwood Hwy, Belgrave VIC 3160, Australia Tickets: here Facebook Event Page: here Hope to see all you Melbourne Myco-minds there

  22. This thread just popped up while I was searching for something not unrelated....and I recall reading it back when I was also seeking access to ceremonies in this country, so remember following it closely. It really made me reflect though, how different (and to some extent the same) things are now, with 'shamanic' style ceremonies being advertised openly on Facebook, pretty much every mainstream media outlet in the West reporting on the positive results emerging from the burgeoning psychedelic research coming from overseas and now starting in Australia, and also what a simple google search for [insert medicine you seek} and [insert country you live in] will reveal now ! Chrissy Star, I hope you found what you were looking for peace, Flux
