It has been quite cold in some of the lower valley parts of the Northern rivers like mullum and surrounding vicinity.. How is all up in the SEQLD lands? Have been keeping a close eye on some particular spots also.. Some of which look like there could in fact be some water damage to the myc- always fascinated me how that happens. Just as we can make the right environment in a jar for mycelium to flourish but it almost seems like there is a missing piece to a puzzle regarding mycelium and TOO much water when in its in its natural environment... Thought by now and over time there would have been some attributing factors to adaption and almost evolutionary proceeding for mycelium not to be damaged by water and harness it and use it to its advantage--- hmmmmmmm Big love

Hey mob, Has anyone got experience with using RTV silicone as an injection port in the jar lids for LC? I have been playing around with different methods and like the idea of the whole 'self healing' part of RTV.. Any information on experience would be greatly appreciated Big love

I managed to get a good LC method going which is great I thought perhaps using a little bleach solution with my grains as I have heard minute amounts of bleach does not harm myc and lessens the chances of contams.. What are your thoughts?

Yeah they have done the same with all my brassicas! Hajj I like diapel but I done like that it kills everything else...

So as spring has come the equinox has brought many days of lush scenting flowers and abundance of native fauna and bloooooming flora! I am constantly amazed of natures dynamics! Spring is an amazing time for new cycles beginning, saying that... Many insects and bugs So as my rotational garden has been gradually transforming from winter into a spring garden, many new friends have decided to reside in my garden.. I love them all as it shows me an indication on how healthy it is but i can see certain areas in my Bio-cycle of organisms and bugs that i am having an overcoming situation of white cabbage moth as i cannot accommodate this many.. As you probably know they turn into caterpillars!!!! So i have gone through a series of processes to eliminate such an intense fluctuation of these creatures but they still have managed to eat away alot of my (what was) produce.. I have gone along the lines of using crushed garlic in a sock soaked in boiling water and then used the infused water in a spray bottle and applied to each side of every leaf in my garden... Along with the same said method above done with a little bit of washing detergent and crushed lemons.. They still don't seem to be budging at all... I believe that the plants have outsmarted me for their own good as many plants have a fibrous/waxy coating on their leaves as a defence mechanism which has lead to all my sprays just rolling off the leaves.. I have resorted to using Beer in little tubs place strategically around my garden as this attracts the caterpillars from the sweetness/yeast content.. I dont really mind using beer as i am not much of a drinker at all but this does not appear to be working either.... DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS/METHODS OF HOW I CAN ELIMINATE THE WHITE CABBAGE MOTH/CATERPILLARS FROM MY GARDEN? BIG LOVE

I think i will just stick to rye grain, some folk talk of BRF being easier to grasp as opposed to rye grain and monotub teks.. I think it is the total opposite in my experience I found the source of all my horrible tricho too! Some old hessian basket has been deteriorating over time at the bottom.. Underneath it was a shocker colony of various moulds/bacteria! I discovered this as i thought i would do another clean out with bleach solution, then salt and vinegar solution... followed by sodium bi-carb solution... Haha just to cover all areas! Big love

Have never seen this before.. Probably as I am new to using BRF/VERM substrates and used to rye etc.. Is this a heavy case of TRICHODERMA? I have some dodgy pics but it is about as up-close as I could get without resulting in a blur...
