    Betel Nut Powder??

I have mixed the powder, 1/2 tsp with 1 tsp guarana + 1tsp Kolanut powder to make a hot drink with milk and honey. While not the correct way to consume I swear the Betel powder adds extra stimulation to the Guarana and Kola combo. Placebo perhaps?

    Alcohol + Kava = trouble

Ok, that's great to know. The combination of Kava with organic beer certainly does not feel toxic, nor does it leave me with a nasty hangover. I am however 99.9% certain that Kava inhibits the breakdown of sulphites in Red wine or somehow lowers the body,s ability to fight these. While Red wine by itself will give me a mild difficulty in breathing, on par with what one might experience from a night of heavy smoking, if I consume red wine after Kava the reaction is so bad the doctor reckons I could die. The only cure is IV adrenaline which unfortunately he would not allow me takeaways so it's a quick trip to A&E if it happens again:( I have also suffered this reaction from drinking fruit juice after Kava, which contained the same shady additive, i forget the number now. I drink 100 gram of Kava most nights and have otherwise never had a problem.

    Alcohol + Kava = trouble

The problem with many of these tests is they have likely used Kava extracts containing aerial parts of the Kava plant, as opposed to the traditional brew prepared from 5-7 year old roots only. When pharma companies sponsor tests on natural competitive substances, they generally find whatever results they require My statement that the Kava liver damage thing is bullsh@t was directed at Kava usage without alcohol, in reply to MindExpansions comment "two things which on their own are potentially somewhat hetatotoxic." I would assume any damage caused by the combination is likely due to the non-toxic Kava inhibiting the breakdown of the toxic alcohol, and / or the various toxic preservatives in the alcohol.

    Alcohol + Kava = trouble

The Kava and liver damage thing is bulls@it propaganda from the pharm companies. I experience an allergic reaction to the sulfites in red wine that is greatly potentiated by kava. Basically I stop breathing and break out in a rash on my chest. I assume this is due to kava inhibiting the liver enzymes that are responsible for breaking down this particular nasty down. Alcohol itself does not cause a negative reaction when combined Kava in me, I would say its synergistic, quite plesant if not over done.

    How to kick the habit

Interesting theory, but . . . Its not just average joe's that abuse drugs, just look at how many rock stars and other famous people have struggled with drugs. The list is endless. Addiction effects all types of people from all walks of life.

    How to kick the habit

I have smoked heavily more days than not for 20+ years. I believe it is less addictive than coffee. The main hassle with quitting seems to be the boredom that comes from everyday chores. Weed makes boring things fun. When my usage gets out of hand I have a break for a few weeks. I also practice trying to hold out until later in the day before I have that first hit. Get the chores done first. Try having one day a week without weed. To stop completely, I recommend taking the following supplements morning and night: Kava, Valerian, 5-htp, fishoil, good multi vitamin. these will not cause tolerance or addiction. Exercise, can,t recommend that one enough. Also, try switching to a vaporizer. Not only does this clear up the chest and lungs, but it removes the ritual of sparking one up.

    Star Jasmine uses???

I believe it contains traces of Ibogaine and/or related alkaloids. Extraction would be the way to go, people use the flowers for their nice flavor and scent, I doubt the old Chinese ladies are using it for psychoactive purposes though.

    Xanthines

As stated above, various Caffeine containing plants also contain other actives: Theobromine may have more of a mood lifting effect than caffeine, but milder stimulation. Theanine may reduce some of the anxiety from too much caffeine. There are others too . . . When consumed in non-extracted plant form, Guarana for instance releases caffeine into the bloodstream slower (via the intestines), providing a milder but longer lasting stimulation with less crash. Of all caffeine containing plants, Yerba mate is the most interesting imo, it would appear the most beneficial with the widest range of effects.

    Orally active dagga extract?

I use bubble bags+water+ice to make a dagga bubble hash. Its a very decent smoke, however a lot of work for a very small yield. The resulting material is by far the most active Dagga I have ever tried. This leads me to believe that the (best) actives in dagga are located in glandular trichomes similar to MJ. I believe this may be the case for many members of the mint family, can anyone verify this to be correct?

    Spicey herbal extract blend

As a heavy weed smoker I went through a faze of smoking Spice (usually sprinkled on top of a cone of weed). I soon stopped as something felt wrong or harmful, at the time I thought it may have been laced with a tropane, now I know better. The high to me is missing something from weed, seems to be less creative thoughts, less euphoria, less medicinal effects. Its funny that the paranoia is still present, I always thought this was a side effect of prohibition Be interesting to see whats next . . . a truly herbal weed alternative (herbal isolates sprayed on a base herb) would be a useful thing for many people.

    Can I smoke hemp rope?

Funnily enough I tried this as a 14 year old kid. It does not work:) No you wont be able to sell it as pot. Btw, its pretty low to misrepresent something as something else, also equally illegal in the eyes of the law.

    Leonotis nepetifolia?

That's it alright! Or at least a vary close relative. Also be aware it can look somewhat like a certain illegal plant to an untrained eye;)

    Ibogaine Rite of passage

Sounds like some of the problems have been caused by a certain Mexican Ibogaine clinic treating people with chronic Hep C and other medical conditions whose bodies simply can not tolerate this treatment.

    Chocamine (Theobroma extract)

Some sources claim Chocamine is illegal in AUS, I guess it contains a cocktail of analogues, but if its illegal surely cocoa is too? Can analogue laws be stretched to cover natural substances? If so oranges, chocolate and cheese are clearly illegal.

Is it still legal to grow the plant as an ornamental?

    Kava heads

I use Kava most nights and have noticed no problems, other than if I have a second brew too late / too close to sleep, I may wake up a little lethargic. I was drinking far too much alcohol to relax after work, since substituting the alcohol with Kava, I feel Kava has greatly lifted my quality of life and am very grateful for this. It sickens me to see Australia scheduling this wonderful herb, if that was to happen here I would have no choice but to become a criminal rather than poison my body and mind with ethanol. I mix 50grams in a blender with Lecithin and water, allow to sit before straining and drinking.

    Spicey herbal extract blend

Here in NZ, Spicy herbal extracts are greatly enjoyed by the Army and others unfortunate enough to be drug tested at work. Also, those who get too paranoid smoking weed seem to find paranoia less of a problem with the Spicy herbal extracts. Of course paranoia is likely amplified by prohibition, so a similar legal substance will likely cause less.

    Spicey herbal extract blend

In theory if one were to extract the right isolates from the herbs listed in Spice, surely this would still create a decent smoking blend? Has anyone tried any natural extracts that are close to Spice in effects? How about natural legal blends such as "I can,t believe its not hashish"?

Drug tests look for metabolites of THC. Other Cannabinoids and / or Poppycock would produce different metabolites;)

    Spicey herbal extract blend

Coca Cola contains unlisted ingredients. What if someone has an allergy to these? In some countries these may be technically illegal as Cocaine analogues. Even supermarket goods such as oranges, cheese and chocolate contain analogues illegal in many countries. Things like Apsartane are listed sweetener XXX and the f$#kin products marketed as a healthier alternative to the sugared version. Nothing is what it seems, let the buyer beware!

    Spicey herbal extract blend

To each their own I guess. I enjoy smoking this blend and would be sad to see it banned. I agree its not ideal that vendors do not list all ingredients, but neither do street drug dealers. In the current prohibitionist climate anything that works is banned. Just look at Salvia, Kratom, Khat, Ephedra . . . I hate to say it, but incense with unlisted ingredients will be the future of commercial legal highs, if you don,t like it then overthrow the goverment;)

    Spicey herbal extract blend

We have been through this many times over. Nearly every smoking blend on the market either lists no ingredients or lists bogus or at least decoy or misleading ingredients. Even those fake buds with no psychoactive effect do this. If you are that worried you should avoid ALL these type of products and instead make your own. Many synthetic Cannabinoids have been somewhat researched and appear quite safe, at least in comparison to some natural smokables like Tropanes or Nutmeg oil. Of course in a perfect, prohibition free world . . .

    Spicey herbal extract blend

I agree. Most people buying these blends are willing to take the risk. These chemicals are likely alot safer than a lot of plant derived ingredients anyway.
