Hey I've finally got myself a place with a yard that I will be in long term and I'm keen to kick off an ethno garden So come at me with some suggestions for a beginner, some favourites etc suitable for Lower Hunter. Cheers!

For sure, I will do there no shortage of expert cacti advice on this forum. Any idea how these go indoor? Like does air con upset them?

Here's the little fella. Probably hard to tell as hes only as big as a cigarette lighter

Heaps of good suggestions thanks guys. And thanks for the links.. I look forward to being an active part of the community. expect me on the seed giveaway part of the forum often haha I've already got a few chillis and a. longifolia from seed that is going ok. There's a cactus that I'll have to get someone to ID on my window sill as well.

Longer than anything else I can show them haha And As far as things like Sida, is it promoted/ethical to grow something thats known to be invasive?

Help me get better at identifying What have I found? I'm guessing: Gymnopilus Junonius Leratiomyces Ceres pycnoporus coccineus Trametes Versicolor x2 And question markius I don't knowius

I suppose it depends where those woodchips originated from.

This definitely looked like it had been there a while so I think you're probably more right than me with Ganoderma. That specimen was about as wide as my hand (~20cm x 2cm thick) and on the 1m log there was 3 growing well spaced out. There seems to be a lot of variance in the australe photos on g.images. Though that's probably the worst way to go about identifying anything. If I can positively identify as Ganoderma Australe is it possible these have medicinal benefits like reishi?

Interested to see how this stacks up against textsecure by the guys at openwhisper The difference I can see is that wickr generates a new key on every message whereas TS uses PGP between the 2 devices

Busking raises way more cash than you think it does. So does buying a bulk tray of anything. Printing a label that says 100% organic Pesticide & GM free and selling smaller lots for triple the price. -
Haha I figured they were old when they didn't throw spore. Turns out another guy I know was at the same spot and found them to be superb. I will agree that the split caps might be rotten though I have seen worse. Thanks for the advice guys

Hi Guys, I found these recently in some damp woodchip/leaf matter. We had rain that night and v-low temps. I've been told they could be subs but I've never seen them that colour. Can the dark tops be a result of bruising from the rain. It's a dark green/blue black colour and they all had it to varying degrees. What do you think?

Hi guys, had this given to me as a gift and have no idea what it could be. Has recently started growing big dildo's out it's sides so I though that may help identification. Let me know if you have any ideas.

So after some quick googling it seems I might even get edible fruit from Cereus peruvianus. That's a bonus And they have the potential to get HUGE!! Thanks guys

Welcome to the future. Given how hard I've found it to grow any kind of fungus (except in the fridge) this kind of blows my mind. The first link is a chair that's printed using mycellium and straw that will get stronger over time and even fruit. http://inhabitat.com/3d-printed-mycelium-chair-sprouts-living-mushrooms/ This other link is a similar experiment called edible growth which I completely don't understand. http://3dprint.com/17305/edible-growth-3d-print/ exciting times

I don't have a lot of experience but I'll always chuck in my 2 cents. In the backyard there is a fallen down mulberry tree that the fungus LOVES! Whenever I get a good deal of rain it's bursting with Auricularia.

pimento.... wow.

I think this will be the tek for me. Believe it or not the 80c buckets at a certain hardware store even have markings on them that look to be a good substrate/spawn height guide. EDIT: Not looking forward to having to artificially heat a room though. Anyone got a heating method that suits bucketing?

I am posting several different kinds of what I am assuming is wild lettuce although I could be wrong. There are 2 distinct varieties here one that grows flat and fits the description of Lactuca Virosa as far as google shows and the other grows taller with little yellow weeds. Where I grew up the farmers called these fireweed and hated them as it was not good for the cows. The taller specimen lactated instantly and profusely however the flatter specimen only a clear liquid. What do you guys reckon?

Classic doco. I wonder how many corroboree members featured in the film....
-
Did you just describe the mushroom as arousing?
-
Basically just weeds. Any advice on a good site that will give good identification information. Being that google images is way misleading.
