What did you do to your cacti today?

obtained this cutting and will be grafting a ton of the bottom portion ;)
  2. So a little back story. I purchased a T. "Peruvianus" from Zircon6 from ebay. When i received it.. it was clear it was a T. Cuzcoensis ( TO ME ). No problem. I bought it because it looked great and I figured it was a T. Cuzcoensis since we here at SAB actually converse with other collectors to better understand the tricho's. Well when I left feedback for zircon6 on ebay of 5 stars I simply commented (for his benefit really.. no ill intentions) that it "was Definitely a T. Cuzcoensis but still a nice plant". He often sells tricho's with "???" in the name since he clearly doesn't know how to ID tricho's well enough. Now I'll admit, since I'm an adult, that I'm not a professional as there really are no "PRO" cactus identifiers that I'm aware of so I'm willing to admit I could be wrong and that its not a T. Cuzco. Ill post up close pics of the T. Cuzcoensis that I bought from zircon6 from ebay a little later. Well I just received an email from Zircon6 from ebay. Check it out! LOL What really blew me away was that all the rumors about Zircon6 from ebay are completely true, he will ATTACK HIS CUSTOMERS if he doesn't agree with them! Its crazy! I will never buy anything from this person again and I will no longer recommend his stuff to anyone. He's lost quite a bit of business from me and my friends now. lol This is a word of warning to those who want to buy cactus from this person. Again my original intention was not any ill will only simply stating my opinion as his CUSTOMER... in hopes that maybe I could help another Tricho collector understand what he has. Edit: He has changed his username on ebay to "cactus_kate_trichocereus" just an FYI. cactus_kate_trichocereus from ebay cactus_kate_trichocereus on ebay zircon6 from ebay zircon6 on ebay

    beware of verne

stay away from RIVER SOURCE BOTANICALS if you know whats good for you. the dude is just as nutbag as verne. RSB owner cancelled my 25 cuttings order because he didnt like another tricho collector that he felt i was associated with and therefore refused service lol. This tricho collector he thinks im associated with was simply a customer of mine a year ago, thats it. the RSB owner had it in his mind that I/we were out to rip him off so he would not even talk to me. was sureal. and completely baseless.

    Crested Terscheckii?

wow, sic pics. thanks peeps. so what i gather is that a dichto tersch could possibly go crested later on or at the very least continue splitting and looking generally ridiculously badass?
  10. Not to beat a dead horse but I saw i was mentioned and thought it was hilarious! http://www.sacredcactus.com/cuzcoensis.htm (updated for magical9's ebay comment in 2014!) and I quote "Why I have never (yet) sold cuzcoensis. They are my personal reference specimens; I don't want customers confusing them for T. Peruvianus. " mmhmm....must have had a change of heart on sellin' cuzco's. Good to see the customer base is getting intelligent enough for him.

Is this a tricho? Peru X Pach?

The spines appear to be the same all the way down. Maybe turning white on the oldest ones but never any longer or shorter spinations. I cant even remember if there is a mother plant that i got this cutting from. Pretty sure i found it laying on the ground in a pile of random cuttings the dude hadnt rooted from months prior. Ill have to try to find his mother plant and take pics.

Starting My First Seeds - A Question...

up potted them! and planted a new batch o seed for 2015. Sacred Succulents Bridgesii, Los Gentiles, Lurin. Still have 2 flats to plant though and tons of seed. Though id love to get some of the latest and greatest seed going.
  20. I keep seeing people recommend using ziplock bags for starting new cactus seed. IIRC i want to plant the seeds in moist soil and left in a ziplock bag for 6months? then i can start trying to introduce them to the air etc. (please correct me if im wrong on that process) So im a huge mason jar fanatic.. so i was thinking.. couldnt i just use these half pint ball mason jar's filled half way up with soil. capped and left to do its thing? or am i completely off base on how i should be doing my first set of seeds? prease halp Is there a really good walkthrough on the best way to start seed? I want to start a cactus farm in a few years so i want to start planting ass tons of seeds.
