Well, they work! Grain spawn PC'd for 1 hour in a PP5 chinese take-away container, with polyfill filter and innoculation hole covered with electrical tape. Innoculated with Oyster mushroom liquid culture 18/10, fully colonised 14 days (cool temps to blame for slow colonisation). They don't seal completely, so I would wrap some tape (maybe micropore?) around the edge before PCing next time. I think I got lucky this time with no contams, there is mycelium creeping out through the edges where the lid doesn't seal.

Did you see this one? http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/6252361#6252361 He uses a fogger, a heater and an airstone to get good amounts of humidity, and it keeps the water fresh. I reckon that would be more than sufficient and really easy to build.

Love to grab at least 100 as well worowa. Probably prefer T3's but either would be fine.

You will still grow the same species, but you will just need to isolate to get a good fruiting culture.

Interesting! Can't wait to watch this, thanks heaps for posting the info. Funnily enough they don't report about the environmental problems associated with overharvesting of these precious little fungi.

If you can wait 7 or so months they will be fruiting in Oz and and if I find any specimens I could get you a print, but it would be easier, faster and guarunteed clean if you got it from sporewoks.

I picked up some 'multix screwtop' containers today from the food wrap section of the supermarket, they have screw top lids and come in either 450ml or 750ml sizes - about $4 for a pack of 4. They should work out ok and are pretty cheap all things considered. It might be fine and a lot cheaper to use chinese take-away containers, but they don't seal very well.

Thats great advice.. I have just found out that possibly my whole spore collection which was stored in a storage unit, in a small wooden box, double bagged may be un-viable. So far 4 different individual prints have been useless. I have used a perfectly healthy print after 3 years storage in a mook so I wasn't expecting this - it feels like I have I have done them a dis-service... So I'd like to add, that you should keep your prints in the fridge.

Hey all just wanted to share some pics of an amazing cactus garden we visited on our recent trip through Asia. It's called 'PINEVIEW Nursery' (LINK) and is located in a town called Kalimpong which is in the hills in the north east of India, not far from the famous town of Darjeeling. It has some spectacular views of the Himalayas off in the distance and does some great food, and you can even stay there for peanuts. I snapped off some pics while we were there thinking of you guys, and there are also heaps more on their site. Enjoy! Firstly here is the owner - very lovely lady as you can imagine (just unfortunate that it looks like she's having a scratch) One of about 7 or 8 (from memory?) greenhouses - She called these 'mother in law's cushion'! - And the rest of the random shots we took - Grafting stock? Lophs! Flowers - Some grafted lophs - More grafting - Other random cacti - A friendly staff member - Her Kitchen!! Some great curries coming out of here.... The view from the greenhouses (too hazy to see the himalayas that day) - And we found this growing from the road on the walk home - India

Personally I have got healthy liquid cultures from numerous wild prints... Things have to remain as clean as possible, but sterile is not a necessity - don't be scared to try, nothing to lose but one liquid culture and a jar of grain. Nice pictures Shruman!

P. coprophilla grows from kangaroo dung and may be slightly active but is not worth targeting due to tiny yield and rarity, although this grows in the Perth region. Another species of interest is Gymnopilus purpuratus that also grows in the Perth region. If you can get any information on the blue stainer from Toodyay or even a picture it would be highly appreciated!
