  1. Hi fyzgy, that would be awesome but you say it's on the interstate? I was wouldn't want you to get in trouble or injured. Yes I think storing in a drawer is not good. I store my seeds in a refrigerator. It keeps them viable for years. I used to germination test my seeds on a yearly process. Safe to say this process of seed storage works and even keep gardens use this principal.  There is somewhere where it freezes year round that have seeds from all over the world stored in case that species becomes under threat of extension they can bring it back.

  2. Hi everyone here. I have had my loohs for many years . They got over watered many years ago but they come back and they are flowing every year and producing seeds.

I baught them back in approx 2005 and they were producing flowers and seeds.

From research lophs flower at the age of 5 years  Of age. So if that being correct my babies were planted approximately in the year 2000.

Thus making my lophs 20 years old.  I have been growing the seeds and have given them to friends as presents. I know that some lophs product pupps and I think after caring for mine for many years one is doing this which brings me great excitement!

Can anyone with loph experience confirm whether or not my loph Is doing such thing?

  4. Hi ladies and gentlemen. Following my relationship break up my former other half threw out my seed collection. What hurt me was I had different strains of catha edulis seeds.

I Know I may never be able to get any of these strains in seeds again or if I can it will just be difficult.

I had red, green, narrow, and only approx 4 planthelper f2.

My long term plan was to try and make some interesting crosses with these seeds that I had painstakingly cleaned under a magnifying glass and stored them in labeled ziplock plastic baggies in  a refrigerator. I was cleaning an area to work on getting the crossbreds when my relationship broke down and I became homeless sleeping on friends sofas or in my car

I have managed to get a small place of my own again with a small balcony so I try and my crossbred experiment going again and I hope to have some new strains to distribute here in sab.

I need help with obtaining different strains of catha edulis . If anyone can help me then please DM me.

    Much appreciated

  5. Hi guys and ladies,

I posted in this page a while back, about I was having a hard time with my mental health. I was given meds from my GP and all that.

I'm now 8 months off the meds and my life is just about back to normal, I still have bad days and all that. I'd like to say a big thank you to the support I got from the people of sab, and if anyone else is having mental health problem then reach out to someone here and talk even if it's via a PM, don't bottle things up, I will try to help anyone who needs it.

  7. Hi members of this awesome site. I have a very keen interest in microprogation/tissue culture, and I am only just starting out using these techniques to grow plants.

Last year I attempted to grow some chilli plants Via microprogation but I started out late in the season and im thinking I went a bit ott with the seed sterilisation process and probably left the seeds too long in the bleach or sprayed the alcohol too much, I'm not sure what exactly went wrong, but I didn't get any to germinate.

The growing medium I was trying was the MS I had the vitamin added etc. I'd be interested in hearing of anybody else that has used microprogation/tissue culture before or if anyone that has come across any sites with good information on this subject, to help me and another members use this interesting way of growing, and cloning of plants.

Hopefully if we could get a good discussion on this then we could get some awesome and unique plant genetics for the members here growing.

i can't add much to this topic unfortunately but, i would be very interressted in all sorts of DIY glove boxes, tunnels and flow hoods.

i remeber stories of people using cheapish bought air filtering systems (the airfilter was designed for another application) and using those without problems.

i'm a building stuff in the shed person, and would like to manufactor a glass, or perspex, stainless steel or corian glove box. perspex scratches easely, and those scratches might harbour contams after a while, so my thoughs ar to make it out of as scratch proof materials as possible.

i have researched this a bit on the net already, but i you know of inspirational pic's of DIY glove boxes, maybe post them here or give a link.

Hi planthelper, have you had any experience in using microptopagation/tissue culture techniques with any of your catha?
