Thanks for that bot. I didnt even know what a ROS was or even that it was a thing before you posted that. Looks like antioxidants do play a role in plants. But saying if you lead a healthy lifestyle you would not need antioxidants is a bit of a silly thing to say. Antioxidants rich foods are part of a healthy diet. More accurately, if we ate less shitty unhealthy food that causes our bodies more oxidative stress (foods high in bad fats and alcohol for example) we wouldn't need as many antioxidants. Antioxidants are needed I think.. Oxygen is extremely reactive and our bodies have to deal with it with some kind of protection. Our bodies (and plants) produce mass of a specific antioxidant called glutathione if you weren't aware. When our bodies become chronically depleted of glutathione numerous maladies usually occur. Thats why i think we need them. Although this is one specific antioxidant that probably (and seemingly) plays more roles than just antioxidant. Edit: Oh I see now you were reffering to supplementing antioxidants..

MPs of all stripes in push to make medicinal marijuana legal (AUS)
Meditator replied to CLICKHEREx's topic in News & Notices
Yeah.. Dude good quality marijuana of the right kind for a sick person can be the best medicine because the marijuana plants love synthesis the perfect mix. It's chemical makeup balances itself out. Too much pure THC is not good for some. It does have side effects for a lot of people. But other cannabanoids counteract the side effects with their own medicinal effect and brings balance to the system. Taking a whole round of chemicals to counter act eachothers side effects just to treat one problem looks stupid when the correct strain of mj will not only treat the symptoms but help heal the patient... Unless the extract is a honey oil and not a single chemical it's just like taking a Medication. Marijuana is medicine.. Medication is not. And meditation rhymes -
MPs of all stripes in push to make medicinal marijuana legal (AUS)
Meditator replied to CLICKHEREx's topic in News & Notices
The first thing I thought was "I wonder what laws they have changed to benefit from this" I think they've been planning this for a while. But in order to maximize their benefit they would need to change a bunch of laws to tie up loopholes and make shit harder for everyone. Like new taxes and regulations. Can anybody with knowledge in this area tell me if I'm right? I mean if this actually mattered to them, for the people they would have passed a medical regulation a decade ago. Or atleast within the last 3 years. -

I have recently re-potted a plant into a larger pot and am worried about the ants. The last thing i grew (it was a prickly pear of types, not the usual green with yellow hairs but green with white. It was large and ugly af) in it ended up dying from dehydration and becoming A FUCKING ANT FARM. There was almost no soil.. there was more ant than soil when i tipped it. Now that ive got thee pot back and the ants out.. they want to come back?! What do I do guys? I mean circling the pot with ant sand doesnt sound the best.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. this plant is just too precious to let die.

How to prevent your pot from becoming an ant farm?
Meditator replied to Meditator's topic in Chill Space
I think im gonna put both cassia and cinnamon along with catnip and a bit of brandy into a bottle and spray them at their hiding place then bomb them with garlic and cinnamon.. that should do it. -

Ok thanks for the replies. The moat idea actually sounds quite genius lol. When you say cinnamon do you mean true cinnamon or cassia? They have similar chemical makeup but cassia is more spicey due to something being many times more present than in cinnamon. I would actually think too much cassia may be bad for a plant, cinnamon on the other hand probably wouldnt i would think. -
Hello people, im sick of buying woodchips and just plain shitty mixes. Doe anyone know of any good potting mix i can buy? Specific brands you guys with years of gardening experience can reccomend? Also is there any particular type of sand (i know sand is basically just silicon dioxide but im thinking differant types may have differant micronutrients and whatnot?) that is good? I want to repot some cactus and plants and I AM NOT planting my plants in this cruddy mix.. No. Thankyou in advance.

Books that have changed your life and why
Meditator replied to Halcyon Daze's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Check out Stranger in a strange land (the unedited version that is). It was probably the most controversial novel of its time. Its a big book (especially the unedited version, which is much better) but i doubt you will get bored of it. If you can absorb yourself in a story im sure this would satisfy your sci fi interest. Its an interesting idea/story to say the least. -

Meditator replied to Halcyon Daze's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
My dad said that this book he read as a teenager really changed him for a while.. like a couple of months. I want to read it when i have developed my mind and concentration more because it is a rather large book. Its called Stranger in a strange land by Robert A. Heinlein. Anyone read this book? -

The Internet Turned Kratom, a Medical Plant, Into an Oxy-Adderall Lovechild
Meditator replied to CLICKHEREx's topic in Ethnobotany
When someone compares kratom to bath salts or LSD that just makes me loose just a little bit of respect and hope for humanity... dear god help us all. -
