    Hello all (again)!

Just a quick update, look like there's about 15 buds growing, so there'll be a bunch to go 'round. Thanks very much for the offer Zelly, but I don't think quarantine or the owner would be happy about it. The owners said I can have the flowers but I don't want to push my luck and ask if I can hang around her house painting pollen into her flowers.

    Hello all (again)!

Hey everyone! I feel a little silly but I thought I'd just post to say hello again, I've been away for ages now (almost 6 months!), but I've got a whole bunch of BS behind me and I'm back baby! I've learned a lot from you all, and I'm glad to be back here contributing again. On that note, does anyone want a trich scop flower (vacuum packed) for cross pollination? I've just found a seriously established plant who's owner is excited about the idea of cross poll? Happy to pay postage, just ask for the seeds to be sent out through the community freely and generously. Peace, love and all that jazz to you all, TC.

Shit, I missed it completely. Sorry guys, I've been away for a long long time, getting personal stuff sorted out. Foo, I owe you some serious thanks, Those seedlings you gave me have gone nuts on some pere. I'm really mad I missed this meet (did it happen?) GoOnThen, I owe you a 6 pack (was it masto's you were drinking last time I saw you?). Those seeds you gave me almost a year ago are now looking like they are about to be sprouting beautiful flowers.

    Menstruation as fertilizer.

Lol I've heard this myself. I know a lot of people take home their placentas after giving birth and plant a tree on top of it. I'd say waterboy is spot on, blood is blood. Not a bad but gross idea. I'm just not sure how I'd go about convincing my misses to squat over my cacti while she's acting like a crazy hormonal bitch.

    Flower photo heavy 2014 season

Cheers hostilis, It's my first one, I've been watching that flower grow upwards out of the hairy top for days now, I thought I was going to miss it today at work and was about to call in sick when it opened. I had just enough time for a photo before I had to leave. I'm really digging Coryphanthas atm. I keep getting obsessed by different genera. Between these and asto/arios I have so much grafting and growing ahead of me.

Seeking cacti propagation & Care advice

Just so you know, I'm pretty new around here too, so don't take what I say to seriously, or as the correct info. There are stacks of people whom I've learned from who know way more that I do!

Seeking cacti propagation & Care advice

I used to stress about cuttings callousing, but now I'm over it. If you stick it in the ground (and don't wet the soil) it'll root in it's own time. This may take a while so don't stress too much. I've seen old old cuttings that shoot out roots too, so if you don't want to plant it yet you can wait till then emerge. The cut may go super skinny and drawn in after a while, this seems to happen while it's putting out massive root systems. It'll fatten up. Resist the urge to pull it up and look if it has roots. If you have to do this do it as little as possible. Scops seems to get black bruises easily, I never worry about them much. The red dots are probs nothing at all. I'm looking at one right now that I know is healthy that has a few red dots around the base... Though scale is a common thing that you should look into. I just let nature do it's thing. Scops seem to do super well (the bunnings hybrid anyway). I'm sure you have but UTSE. Most of this stuff is already just a few clicks away. Welcome to SAB

I think that you and I were the group freaky. I was sitting and reading by that little sheltered garden thing.

Free Seed Giveaway - Free Post

I was told that collecting plants and succulents was a boring hobby for old people that I'd soon grow out of... Though now I'm house hunting and looking for a place with a bigger back yard!

Am I the only person pissed off about the shark culls?

And yet, they are still drum lining. Still, great photo cubism!
  24. It looks like these fucking ridiculous great white shark culls are going to happen, and I guess I'm just furious and venting... I'm curious how you all feel about this issue, both for and against the culling. Personally I can't believe this is going to happen, it just seems like such a stupid reaction to modern media fear mongering. I always said that one of Australia's saving graces was that we don't butcher these amazing fish. We just seem to kill or outlaw anything that seems remotely scary. But like I said, I'm curious as to your opinions too. (Maybe other surfers feel differently)

    Chasing chilli seed

Man, I just looked up that Bolivian rainbow, I'd love some seeds from that! Cheers I just found out that the seed company I've been buying my seeds from is selling whole grown chilli bushes at Bunnings for like 8 bucks too by the way. I think they are selling the top 5 hottest chillies in the world. PM me your addy, I should have those seeds ready for you in (I'm guessing) three weeks.
