    North America Buy/Sell/Trade Thread

Looking for a small cutting of Eileen. Cut/pup it doesn't really matter to me. I already have a small specimen trying to source one to give to a friend. I'm putting together a small cacti package and I love to throw a small Eileen in there as he's been looking for awhile now. I've lots of Tricho seeds and seedlings to trade so if interested pm me and I'll shoot you a list of available seed/seedling for trade.

Question about rooting stumps and pupping

FWIW IME the log method takes ages longer and doesn't produce any more pups than planting vertically.

Question about rooting stumps and pupping

@magical9 you'll actually get better growth during the growing season if you let them have a dormancy. Without it they grow at a slower pace all year long

Question about rooting stumps and pupping

I had a lot of confusion with this guy on the left for a while i'd just never seen spines growing up like that. Always straight out or down but never upwards like this one.
  6. BTK I acquired most my Peruvianus stock from members at the nook, sanpedrocactuses.com, Sacred Succulents and Allie's online. However they were mostly all small 6"-12" cuts so idk if they'd interest you anyhow. I tend to prefer small cuttings myself so I can watch them grow.

    Show off your freaks

Just send it to me AZS because I am particularly fond of all things crest
  8. I find this laughable. You haven't looked very hard then. I just personally am not giving my money to a con artist that's fucking over his customers. Apparently he's the only person that has legit Trichocereus and accurate info.
  9. I'd say Cuzco a very nice one but nonetheless......

What did you do in your sacred garden today?

Santo Daime psychotria viridis leaf cuttings throwing some plantlets.
  11. Anyone that discourages people to grow from seed because you 'don't know the parents' and 'crosses are mutts' then turns around and sells seed grown and plants labeled hybrid ???. Is a fucking idiot and hypocrite. I'm not usually a spiteful person and can generally find amicable grounds with anyone but fuck this guy. Just look at his website how people ask for growing tips or what's wrong with their cacti and he tells them they are sick or just generally bashes them. He calls this his 'hobby' and that he makes no money from it really but just look at the price tags.... How much would it take for him to make money? I have a single specimen from a private grower sourced from him as kk242 which looks like most would call macrogonus. I've never and will never give this shiesty motherfucker any of my money. Okay my rant is over now...... I think....... For now anyways.......

What did you do to your cacti today?

Moved about a quarter of the seedlings out into a more exposed area. Repotted about 2-300 and started another dozen localities/crosses. All Tricho's.....

Are trich seeds spread by animals ?

I imagine with the sweetly flavored flesh that any manner of opportunistic feeder would chow down. Thus spreading the seed elsewhere within their range.

What did you do to your cacti today?

Repotted a couple hundred seedlings, most were Aussie crosses care of Mushroomman. Did some GA3 work on some rare/scarce Tricho seeds and some psychotria seeds. Mixed up lots more seedling cacti mix in anticipation

    Foliar Feeding Trichocereus.sp

@ hookahhead- we're getting rains at least once a week if not more in my area. So I usually time my foliar feeds a day before the rains so they get a good wash down @ andyamine- both the cuts I'll be playing with are pretty dehydrated atm first spray was two days ago. I'm pretty sure it's already starting to fatten back up. My only thing is if it's getting moisture back into it then it may actually slow down the need to throw roots

    Foliar Feeding Trichocereus.sp

Been foliar feeding my Trichocereus for a few weeks now and WoW the glaucusness has gotten intense. I'm still continuinga regular feeding program just spray once a week between midnight and 2 a.m. With a 1/4th strength 20-20-20 water soluble fertilizer. I'm thinking of experimenting with a couple unrooted cuts as well. Two cuts from the same clone unrooted. Think I'll spray one once a week and leave the other alone and see if it'll lessen rooting time or not.

    Trichocereus Cuttings

So can we know what they are now? The far right looks like a Torres&Torres clone

Zelly's trich crosses, got pics? post here please

A shallow tray or pan just deeper than the pots are. Place pots in said tray/pan.Slowly fill with water until the water is just lower than the pots rims like a 1/8in or couple mm lower than pot rim let sit for 10 mins or so. Then remove from tray
  19. Care to share? Or are you letting the suspense build??
  20. How many other people have these seeds and have yet to start them???? I got a few crosses from nitrogen and had them in soil within 2 days. Then was lucky enough to get a few seeds of the others from a member at the nook and had them in soil the day I got em.
  21. We do have a North America buy/sell/trade thread as well. Thought it might lessen confusion amongst our Aussie brothers and sisters

    Looking for trichocereus pollen

I'm hoping to get some scopulicola or some other rare Tricho pollen for it like huarazensis, argentinsis, huancoensis or a nice true pachanoi. If I can't do that I may try with an Echinopsis tho I do appreciate the offer. As far as a timeline I've no idea. This will be my first Tricho to bloom, assuming I don't screw anything up ;)
