Thanks man, Good to know, I actually have some black wattle from tube stock, what a coincidence... I thought the first could be fibriata, but there does seem to quite alot of acacia that look similar.. Thanks again.
  3. Hello, Well I am dying to try some grafts this spring and summer and never having done this before I have some questions... Firstly I want to graft some slow growing cactus to faster growing species, I believe this to be a typical reason???? Are there any general guide lines to what can be grafted to what?? For eg could I graft a Gymnocalycium to a t.peruvianus or something??? Can cactus be grafted to regular succulents or vice versa??? In terms of grafting l.williamsii to pach or bridgesii etc. Is there any info on the resulting buttons'... hmmm, shamanistic value??? Basically I want to try all sorts of grafts, (Kind of get a mad scientist feel about grafting) I would like some pointers or rules of thumb to increase my chances of success.. Thanks for any advice. Peace and have a good day!
  4. Hi all, I hope someone can help... I noticed this guy is developing some sort of white coat.. can some one give any advice?? I bought this and it came bare rooted. Has had 1 water all winter. Soil drains well and dries quickly. I have noticed some heavy morning dews recently which I guess means I should move indoors???? Starting to get pretty warm here though... Anyways..., any replies appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  5. Also any advice on which plant this might be would also be greatly appreciated.

    id of unknowns pls

Thanks all for your input. It does seem my suspicions have been confirmed about that third plant.. The mother plant was enormous and quite attractive. I hope I get to see some flowers soon from my cuttings. Peace!
  7. Hi all. I was hoping to get a few id's. Thanks in advance. #1 found at bunnings. Labelled trichocereus and peruvian torch. Desert gems label. #2 & #3 were given to me as a gift which broke and cuttings were taken. #4 & #5 I found at work and obtained permission to take cutting. I am assuming pc This is my first post on my first forum, thanks for having me!

    id of unknowns pls

The photograph of the cactus I came across at work I believed to be pc because many internet pc images looked similar to my specimen. Having said that there are too images suggesting it may be bonafide t. Pachanoi... I'll get some better resolution photos up of the spines later, but I guess I cannot know for certain until it flowers. I did see the mother plants flower but only from a distance. Regarding the cactus I found at bunnings, I believe this could be t.peruvianus because it looks so similar to a skinny tip of another known t.peruvianus. however not so much like a healthier (fatter) looking samples I have of the same species... I guess there are so many variables, making id's in this manner difficult. The cactus I obtained from a friend I believe is t. Panchanoi, not sure why really, just always got that vibe... Thanks all for the input so far, as I mentioned a couple close ups to come...
