Nice to meet you all on the weekend.

So all my plants have been typically grown without fertilisers but this season I started using a liquid fertiliser. 1/2 strength and used once every 2 to 3 weeks, and building up to almost weekly since hot weather has hit hot. Not every water has the fertz tho... Havent had too much rain but with my waterings theyve been getting plenty enough. So anyway theyve all started pupping like crazy. All shapes and sizes, cuts and from seed... all of my cacti are giving pups. And im finding new ones almost every couple days.... So I guess my question is; Is this happening because of the type of fertiliser im using. Or that im simply using fertiliser at all??

Hey. I scored theses sweet cuts today. Really really nice cactus. Any idea on what it is. Mother plants is flowering. I want to collect some.pollen to do my other cereus.. real short spined one is flowering....

I have only one other variety that is so short spined they are almost non existent and the wool is hard like leather... no where near a attractive as this one. Both are woody fuckers!

Haha bullit always saying what everyones thinking... no not mull that would be bogus... but for eg I if I tricked my dalhias to flower in summer would they continue to to flower when reintroduced to summer cycle... does the plant have a memory as to how many man hours it has received light energy in the past???

So to continue in this vein can I manipulate light cycle to induce fflowering and then once in flowering mode increase light to give more energy to this process.... ie will it return to vege growth....?I guess this is a pretty plant specific question....

If a plant flowers in autumn or winter can you add potasium to make them flower early. Ie summer ?

Sweet bullit thanks for the potasium tip. And halcyon daze great heads up I immediately think of 2 echinopsis I need to put in the infirmary. As for seasol, I dont use it but whats wrong with it?

Any thoughts regarding the possible peru??

Ps im talking all my cacti.. not just tric. Pup city... I guess I havent been able to gauge tric flowering as I have only a couple over a metre which I thought would flower this year.. but no signs so far... however all my other cactus flower fine with this diet.. I did see an interesting post today though from change that showed a tric super pedro with flowers and fruit which looked about 60cm in a pot.... I thought they needed to be much bigger... So, like adding nitrogen for growth and pupping is there a mineral to induce flowering????

Dunno if we have similar weather at the moment or not cactuscarl.. I thought the same about weather. That is its been a fuckin hot and dry spring. sweet for cacti here. Now its getting humid..... I hope the sudden transition doesnt fuck with them... I thought the optimal conditions theory was out for me because ive got indoor outdoor and all sorts of different sun aspects going on and they all going off tap. Major constant is the food...

So coolname; Would you reckon that is a good or bad practice?? I love my plants pupping but are there negatives to forcing it to do so with high nitrogen??

I have a peru that has sausaged labelled as kk something.. it doesnt sausage every growing season though... seemingly as it feels like it...

^^^^^ I would buy 10. I got it from an independent nursery. Which I think its cacti are sourced from a local supplier too. Either way I was quite surprised. Paid 20 $ for it... which I guess is a bit much.. its very healthy looking though.
