Are you specifically looking for own-roots plants or would you also want grafted plant photos?

Those look diachotomous to me, but it would be awesome if it crested!! I'll be rooting for a crest!

Hi everyone. My favorite seed grown A. asterias variegata looks like it's forming a bud!! I would love to make some seed! The seeds it came from were near 100% variegates. So variegata has long been bred into it's genes. If one of you lovely people would donate me some pollen from an asterias (preferably) or even another type of astrophytum. It would be awesome if it was a cool cultivar or another variegata strain, but even if it's just plain old astro pollen I'd be happy.
I will share seeds with whoever can share some pollen!! By the way, I'm in the US.
Thanks!

Wow. T. scopulicola... Hahaha! I also sent them a message saying it's not a trichocereus. Hopefully they change it. Either they're ignorant or trying to scam people.

Wow, your garden never ceases to amaze me! Beautiful geometry and color in those new pups. Thanks for sharing!

I did once have a variegated tricotyledon astrophytum, but those seeds were like 100% variegated. So I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with it. Lol.

Mutant, always living on the fringe! Hehe.

I just realized that these orders were from cactushobby.eu. For some reason I was thinking they were the same people.

I just got another invoice from these guys. Lol. I guess for some more of the seeds that weren't in the first package. Which I find really weird. I waited 6 months and now they decide to start sending me several packages only weeks apart after waiting for literally a half year since ordering. I would think they would just wait another two weeks and send them all together.
I'll updated when it gets here.

Yeah, All of my tricotyledon seedlings ended up being normal. I get them quite often.

Incognito, go to the forum cactuscultivars.com/forum and speak with the administrators. They have an amazing seed list for sale, but it's very expensive.

I agree, some kind of cereus. Probably peruvianus.

Keeping the pere watered might be your problem.
I dry them out for 5 days beforehand otherwise a little bead of water just pushes up and either knocks the scion off or just makes a barrier between the two so they don't fuse and share nutrients. I also put vaseline around the graft junction (which is not easy to do) then they go into darkness for 3 days, then humidity for two weeks or untill the scion swells up. I stop watering 5 days before the graft and don't start watering till 10 days after the graft.

Here's my guide. It's kind of old and outdated. I need to update it.

I think simply put, don't order from kaktusy if you're going to be impatient. If you're able to order and then forget you ordered, it'll make for a nice surprise months down the road lol.
That's what I did. Just forgot about it basically. And I didn't pay them untill I got an invoice of what they were sending.

Got my seeds. Everything was good and labelled, but I was a bit dissapointed as all the seeds I was really stoked about were just crossed out on the list since he was out of stock. So I got all the seeds that I didn't want that bad but just thought I'd add on with the other ones I really wanted since I was ordering them anyways. It explains why my original estimate for the order was $150 and he only charged me $45.

I sterilize before every cut and use a new scalpel blade every session when I'm grafting. I'm super anal about it though so i tend to overdo stuff like that just to be real careful. I've had grafts start out strong and grow super fast for like 4-5 months and then all the sudden just stop growing. Then I did an autopsy on them and turns out there was just a tiny little bit of bacteria in the junction at first and it just took a long time to take hold. Then the infection rotted the connection of the two cores and nutrient transport stopped. It was weird, happened to a couple of them.

Wow. Zelly has shown me so much generosity. Even sent me a huge fucking echinopsis out of nowhere just because i posted on this forum that I was starting to love echinopsis and wanted more. Didn't even know till it got here and then i was puzzled who sent it, but luckily i figured it out. It was very awesome. Anyways, sorry to hear you're having troubles zelly.
That experience of you holding the person's hand sounds amazing man, and I'm very happy that there are people left in the world like you that will take someone's hand when they really need it. It is humanity at it's best and it keeps me going everyday to know that this exists in us. Everyone needs people to be there for them.
It reminds me of the other night when my friend and I were downtown going from concert to concert. On our way to the second concert we passed an old homeless man near a hotdog stand. He stopped me and said, "I'm just really hungry right now. Will you please buy me a hot dog. I don't want any money, I'm just hungry." I hesitated for a second because i was in a hurry to the other concert, but then decided to do it anyways. Well, there was a pretty big line at the hotdog stand and i only had my debit card, but the person at the front of the line heard the conversation and said that she would buy him a hotdog or two. Anyways, it doesn't sound like much, but it really impacted me. I literally started tearing up after because it made me so happy that there are people willing to lend a hand to others when they need it, just like I try to be everyday in my life. Your story has the same impact on me, and I can only imagine how it impacted you.
Anyways, I want to thank you for sharing this story and also for your presence and positive energy here. I'm doing extremely well with money right now so I'll make a donation to your paypal. I will be sending you positive vibes in the hopes that your leg heals and you return to good health in a timely manner.

I didn't pay for my order untill like right before he shipped mine. So the paypal is still open. I waited till he sent me an invoice which took 6 months. And I'm still waiting for it to get here. Should be here soon according to tracking. I'll let you know how it goes when it gets here.

Pimento, it looks like your asterias are getting amazing growth!! That lighter color on the new growth looks surreal!! Amazing! Anyways, what kind/mixture of substrate do you use for your astros?

That was mine, and unfortunately it died. I tried grafting it, and I should have just left it.
Here's one of it's siblings.
Here are some other variegates and stuff that I started from seed. A lot of them were pure white seedlings.
This one is pretty weird. It pups from every areole. Non-grafted because I wanted to see if it keeps this characteristics on it's own roots.
