What a phenomenally curated and enjoyable event that was! I'll definitely be back for future EGA shindigs. Thanks so much to everyone involved for the great day -
Garden States - A Forum for Cultivating Ethnobotanical Plants, Knowledge and Community

I'm really looking forward to this! I've been wanting to go to an EGA event for years, and by the list of speakers and workshops this looks like a great one to be at. It will be nice to hopefully put some faces to names and talk plants! If anyone I've traded with over the years is there then it'd be great to say hello :). -

tasmania Tasmanian looking to start a garden
Psiphi replied to LovelyShaun's topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
Off topic, but it looks like we have a few southern Tas members now. Should we start thinking about having a little get together/plant swap? I've been a little jealous of these mainlanders having all of that fun. I guess we could include the northerners too -
I want some nice weird plants. If you've got any seed from monstrose/variegated Trichos I'd be keen to have a look! I have cash and crypto, bunch of tricho, random other ethno seed and plants to trade Cheers!

Yes please if any are left!

Hey all I'm after those in the title. Catha seeds of any variety are appreciated. I'm up for different Loph varieties and locations also. I'd much prefer to trade if possible as money is usually diverted to tedious things like electricity and food, but I'm happy to work with cash as well. For trade I have some Trichocereus seedlings, mainly OP Goliath and OP Psycho0 (~5cm) 18cm Validus x Bridgesii tip cut Citronella Balm Pineapple Sage SEEDS: Ephedra nevadensis Lemon balm cv Citronella Polygala tenuifolia Gynostemma pentaphyllum Kale Garlic chives Marshmallow Lemon mint Bergamot Mustard Greens (wasabi) Cheers!

I'm submitting these on behalf of Big Doofa (https://www.facebook.com/bigdoofaphoto/ ) as he couldn't get his account approved in time for the deadline, he has sent an email to the address listed in the first post though :). Here are his 3 entries and one extra one at the end. Hopefully when his account gets approved he'll post some more from this series up to the forums!

Green seed grow Catha, about 60cm tall from base, starting to bush out nicely. Open to offers. Pickup from Hobart area.

Ha!, Sorry, couldn't resist.

I've got a few seedlings up for reluctant sale. I'm asking for offers via PM. If I put a price on them I'd look like a dick for probably asking too much since my finances are tight. Also my reluctant side is saying "Make them all expensive so people don't buy your babies", but he's a douche who doesn't understand bills. If there's no interest today I might turn this into an auction with a small reserve All seedlings are around 1 to 1.2 years old. I would much prefer them to sell in the lots they are in, to keep things a bit more simple for me. LOT 1 Here's a box of 22 mystery seedlings that I forgot I planted, then discovered, forgot about, and discovered a few times over the past year lol. Total length of all is 49.2cm. Average is 2.5 cm, with 2x 3cm ones in there, and 1x 1cm, the rest are between 2-2.5cm. I have a small feeling they may be knuths, since I had a bag of knuth seed and I couldn't find it when I was trying to work out what they are. But honestly, fuck knows. I only just took them out of the takeaway container the other day, so a bit neglected, and overdue for a repot. LOT 2: from left to right 6.5cm - Validus x Lumberjack 9.5cm - Val x Bridgesii 6cm - Super pedro x Pach 7cm - Something who's seed was labeled kk339, but I'm not 100% sure. But I think it's pretty sexy (close pic of spines below) 4cm - Mystery trich -the "KK339" Buyer(s) pays postage which will be about $10. Payment is Bank transfer or Paypal. Paypal will take a couple of days longer to ship since I need to transfer money to my account for postage. Buyer(s) get bonus (40+) varied trichocereus seed, and maybe something else. If payment is made from a westpac account within 1 day of offer being accepted a 5% discount will be given on the offer, because I get the money faster (just let me know and I'll take the 5% off) I have a few more I may have to get rid of soon, but not as big or nice looking as these.

Incarvillateine- stronger analgesic than morphine
Psiphi replied to mindperformer's topic in Ethnobotany
Just lurking around the interwebs and saw this. I don't think I've seen it mentioned yet, apologies if it has. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23236415 Targeting fatty acid binding protein (FABP) anandamide transporters - a novel strategy for development of anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive drugs. ...Truxillic acids and their derivatives were also shown by others to have anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive effects in mice and to be the active component of Chinese a herbal medicine (Incarvillea sinensis) used to treat rheumatism and pain in humans. Our results provide a likely mechanism by which these compounds exert their effects. -
Would love to! PM'D

I got a good number of these from a generous pimento. I'll do a smaller giveaway of these seeds after this lot of his is done, maybe for a 100th post giveaway. Yay for spreading of genetics
