Katu, on the subject of variegation. I have a plant that shot a sparsely variegated branch. I cut it off a few years ago and have been growing it on. All the new growth came out normal, so I recently cut the plant again just at the top of the variegated section. Hopefully some nice variegated branches next spring. Not really photo worthy just yet. Curious this was brought up as this is the only San Pedro clone I've watched shoot a variegated branch.

I have a rough idea of what they might be. the files names are rough guesses ;) curious if anyone has clone names for the first three and the last i really have no idea, haven't seen it flower yet.

That T. poco is about 15-20 years old. It took a long time to flower

T. grandiflorus Weird

You can cut the leaf up into many pieces if you want to propagate more. The stem part of the leaf always seems to do best imo.
-
These photos show off a bit of variation within the clone. The first plant was grown shadier than most and appears more green rather than blue. The second photo shows the base of a very old plant where the spines are slightly longer.

I can write beats. I used to write hip-hop for some mates in high-school, haven't done any in a while but how hard could it be it's really just loopy trip-hop. keen.

Anyone growing Trichocereus purpureopilosus? I swear over the years the flower is getting more pink. Just a few years ago the petals were white and the sepals pink, now the whole thing is pink. Any thoughts?

I'll post some more shots of my plants, looks like a few people on here have got soerhensias or other trichos confused with T. purpureopliosus

wow. looks like a variegated T. grandiflorus or T. shafferii. Could be a Tricho or Trichopsis hybrid as there is a lot of these around Aus. You must post a pic of the flower next spring. These guys come out in all sorts of different colours. Nice plant.

Cacti ID book recommendations?
prier replied to Boomshankar!'s question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Yes there are many good books, I've posted about this numerous times. The one you want is The New Cactus Lexicon, and don't complain about the cost, good books cost money. Every other general Cacti book is now fairly useless. Other than that you would want books on specific genera. http://www.newcactuslexicon.org/ -
They're in Chelt. Cereus hildemanianus and the monstrose variety
