what tricho is that? Nice man. I get told by heaps of people that they won't flower in Brisbane. But I know of a few people now who have had success, just shows how adaptable they are really.

You got a good one started, good shape and colour.

I'm seriously thinking about it, I weigh 94 kgs and am 183cm tall so its going to have to be a big pumpkin to carry me but if it goes 300kg I think it will manage. Might do it for a charity or something? Douse lagoon would be over 200metres across maybe a bit more. Would be shit to sink in but its full of eels and turtles and gross muddy shit lol.

Update on some of my albino grafts (ss02xsso1) x (ss02x ss01) bap induced pups psycho0 x spach and some permanent grafted siblings [url=http://s111.photobucket.com/user/stillmanz/media/Cacti/DSCF2764_zps4347626c.jpg.html][/ URL] See in the last phot the right graft looks etiolated? This is in full sun under shade cloth so not sure why its growing like this, interesting as lower downb they appear to have more chloroplast so crown seems to grow slower then base which may explain odd shapes. I dunno?

yeah mildew is popping up bad, been spraying with milk but will hit it with Sulphur in the morning.

The tape is only an estimate but I think this has a fair bit to grow yet. I couldn't believe it estimated so heavy I thought about 170kg. Just gotta keep watering it now and hope it doesn't split or just stop growing.

QLD record is 303kg but 330 for a squash (green / grey fruit, only orange and yellow are officially pumpkins.) A guy out side of Byron has the record, its about 600kg I think. He owns a citrus farm I think near the Macadamia Castle.

I'd say its got about another 25 days or so to ripen up with my weather. It's skin is still really smooth and you can actually see the bands of growth form each day.
-
As for weighing it, I am not sure.
-
probably another 50+kg or so I hope. I'd say its close to 130kg now. I'd be really happy with a 200kg pumpkin this time round. I mean it might go bigger? I really don't know. Its starting to get powdery mildew and some of the leaves are looking haggard.. I don't know how much is left in it?

My girls and I with the pumpkin. Taken yesterday. heres the details of the ekka comp

cool so what seed are you going to use for the Ekka pumpkin?
-
looking good man. Not long now before that one goes bang.
-
Red have you thought about putting one in for the ekka competition? Need to plant out late December for a May 10th weigh in?
-
Had a heap of rain yesterday arvo. Sprayed the pumpkin for powdery mildew this morning. Its looking good seems to really pack on the weight when the whole vine gets a drink.
-
Its still growing very fast.

is Jonno the Yowie?

not sure if they are photoperiod sensitive. I think its pretty standard to have 10:1 sort of ratio of sex of flowers initially you get a massive cluster of males and one or two females on main leader and bigger secondaries. Then as they get bigger they seems to slow up on the males and then have a few more females forming on end of secondary leaders.
