Ethanol extraction of motherwort leaf.
Soaked the leaf in 75-78% ethanol and the remaining liquid had similar taste to the leaf, I expect the active sedative component was extracted. This might be a method of turning the leaves into an oil for caps to be used later. I expect the oil will be light sensitive but if kept in a brown glass jar in a cool dark place it may keep for 6months. I will continue to work on it. My book on phytochemistry and herbal medicine will arrive soon so I expect to find out more about various types of concentration and storage of helpful herbs.
