bridgesii - conscious or not?

qualia

a bit of background, this plant is among all the other plants that i've recently (aka since the start of the year) taken cuts of so theres about 5 other plants around it which have had cuts taken of it since the start of the year.

so i was thinking, what if instead of this pup just coming up at random (as logic would suggest), the plant actually has some sort of knowledge of it's surroundings (i.e. of the plants that have been cut), and decided to sprout a pup right behind a branch on purpose, and is making a wager that the branch that is obscuring the new pup will be removed? thereby giving the new pup a chance to grow, and even have the new branch propagated and thereby reproducing the plant?

whoah.....
