What you can't see here- and we only noticed at subculture, is one of the ax buds we regenerated from callus had developed a big taproot. It doesn't look like viable tissue- that is to say it probably wouldn't prevail as a functional root at deflasking and would only rot. The taproot was waterlogged and browning with no discernable nodules or hairs. But it's a start :)
