With all the water I wouldn't be surprised if we had crocs down south. There are ochre paintings that obviously show crocs in SA but they have been dated at 20ish thousand years ago.

It doesn't IMO what people assume; if it's warm enough and there's water they'll survive til winter, as they have before.
