i get this too in my pots. god it pisses me off. is there any way to get rid of it? it makes the soil go bad with heavy infestations.

Just a stab in the dark SirLSD but maybe your potting media is too decomposed?

I tend to look for potting mix that has a reasonably good drainage such as pine bark with an Australian standard label on it. Too much fine material in the mix tends to clog up the drainage and encourage fungi of various types. Eventually, especially if your pot gets lots of heat and water the mix will break down into slop.
