Hi Guys, felt like making some pics. Will post some more when time allows it:

Got this labeled as Trichocereus Macrogonus which is an interesting Label because its a very old and rare type in Germany. I´ve only seen two of them in my life and im still not sure what it is. I guess its definately some kind of San Pedro peruvianoid but its very unlike anything that is around. Any Suggestions?

Its got 11 ribs? Thats unusual for a peruvianoids that I am familiar with ( but I am only familar with the more common cv) have you got a pic of a flower? Interesting plant. Have you got any other pics of your collection EG?

Yeah Cuzco is a very strong possibility, spacemonk. I guess Ben from SS would certainly call that a plant from the Cuzcoensis Complex too as we´ve recently discussed a similar looking Trich that someone found in Peru. But it also lacks some other Traits that many Cuzcos have so i am a little bit confused.

Yeah Alice, thats pasteurized garden soil. I live pretty much on a sandstone rock and the soil is almost purely mineralistic. I only add a few minor things for most Trichos. However, i use diffrent soil for diffrent cacti. This one is only the one for the bigger ones as it would be too expensive to buy.

Trichocereus Lobivioides, very rare one. Was collected from Friedrich Ritter. Note the similarities to a Lobivia. Hence the name.

Thank you Bit, i appreciate it! Here is another one. A very old and large crested Trichocereus Candicans. The other Plant is a very rare Trichocereus that is said to contain Macrogonus. Whats special about it is that its a hybrid with a very beautiful red flower. Was after that one for years. Problem is that it will probably need to grow a lot more till it will push out the flower. Dont expect to see them in the next 10 years. Got a little problem with some algae in that pot so i will probably cover the whole soil with some Quartz stones sometime in the next weeks.

Edit: Note the similarity between this Trichocereus and the one in the first post. I think they look kinda similar...

Heres something that im not sure what it is. Bought it as Trichocereus Spachianus but i have problems to believe that. Its probably a Trichocereus Imperialis, supposedly a hybrid between a Trichocereus Peruvianus and Echinopsis Eyriesii. Voacanga Africana in the Background.

Thanks Tonic, will make some more today. Problem is that i need to make like 10 bad pics to get a good one with the shitty discount camera that i have. Have a whole lot more but cant post them because they are somehow shitty. Will see if i can somehow improve the settings.

jeepers EG I thought you had some cactus porn in your collection but this is borderline obscene. Where's the warning?

Where to start?
First one that you got labelled as Macro, don't you think it looks reminiscent of terscheckii or the other fatties? I have a Tricho labelled #4171 that looks similar.

Variegated Tacaquirensis, penis plant and some of the rare columnars are great!
Never seen some of those Trichocereus species crested before either.

Is your greenhouse temperature controlled? Good job with the Voacanga

Thanks Centipede! This is just the Tip of the Iceberg so i´m sure i wil be able to provide some more good cactus porn in the next weeks. To be honest, my collecting went far beyond sanity and i will need to think about heating them over winter because i dont think i can get all of them in my cellar anymore. Just building my second greenhouse, unheated. Bring them out in spring and take them in late september.

The first one is really a cool one and i am really not sure what it is. Best guess so far is Cuzcoensis but it could as well be a hybrid with something bigger. Its not fat enough for being a terscheckii i think. But it could definately come from the group of the thinner Trichos like Taquimbalensis and so on. But like i said, its unlike most Trichos i know so i am really a little bit hesistant to call it anything because of the weird rib shape. Dont even know if a Trichocereus like this was described in that form yet. Its interesting because the original Macrogonus wasnt found ever again so it would really be interesting to know how this plant got its label. You know, its glaucous and has monster spines. Two things that the original macrogonus was said to have.

Have lots of other crests too and will post some more pics later today. Most of them arent really available because i´ve grown them myself from seed. Maybe i will make them available in the future but first i need to solve the problem with the overwintering. Think about moving to spain in the distant future because it would allow me totally diffrent options concerning my breedings. German winter fucks me up.

The "fade-to-black" on the spines would be the biggest clue to an ID for that first plant I think. To me it looks like a giveaway for taquimbalensis genes. Other than that, I would agree maybe peruvianus genes also. I hope you can grow it out and then it's a bit easier to see.

lol jox, was left once because she´s got the shits from all the cacti in the house. Comes with the job...

These days, i only keep them in the garden or greenhouse and dont bring the inside the living space. Thats something we can both live with.

Don't think that's a Fero, I'd be more inclined to think it's a Parodia mammulosa ssp submammulosa
