The decendents of the Zapotec still live in places around Oaxaca and have interesting views about mushrooms - although a lot of it is now heavily focused on mushroom tourism - such as knitted mushrooms and wooden carvings. They even have a mushroom festival in August up in a little town on the road over the hills,
