Ok, so what are the 'qualifications' required to be able to create an album or post photos?
People have been asking me to post photos but I keep getting this stupid message "NO_PERMISSION_TO_CREATE_IN_ALBUM".
I think that is because you havent chosen a specific folder for the album to go in eg member gallery or what ever.. i think
When all the trees have been cut down,
When all the animals have been hunted,
When all the waters are polluted,
When all the air is unsafe to breathe,
Only then will you discover you cannot eat money...

same! i just figured it out, click on your name on the top right of screen, click "my settings". Now on the settings page there is a blue bar under the "my settings" title, click "gallery", then click "new album" on the right of screen. Then you will be able to upload.
Thanks BT but I am still gettingthe same error dialog

This is the path I followed with a normal members profile:
Go to gallery via the tab at top
Click the upload button on the right
where it asks to select an album to put the image into simply select 'new album' if you don't have one yet.
In the pop up screen put the album name you want to create, then select 'members albums' as the parent album and leave the rest as it is.
Upload the image and then click publish.
If you do not select 'members album' as the parent album then you will get an error because the original set up was designed so that all members albums had to be in this album - which is intuitive and logical. Obviously someone has found a way around this and now member albums are scattered all over the place and will become very difficult to manage in the future.

all member groups have permission to upload to all pulic albums and to create their own album and then upload into this.
Upload the image and then click publish.
i get as far as the pop up new album, but there is no "select members album".
i clicked everything, please give an accurat, click for click description. this is so anoying, and on top, i had a serious injury today (mower blade came off and hit me on the foot, but it's stiched up already, so no worries)).
why can't anybody realy give a click for click description???
i am so upset, as i have tried this 5 or 6 times.

Are you just trying to upload an image into an existing album planthelper. I have just had a play with adding an image to the header/my gallery, and didn't have a problem. I didn't see anything about 'select members album' though. Maybe explore everything tappable that is in your gallery settings , if you still have trouble and you just want to add to the header, i can give you a step by step of what i did.
And were you wearing shoes when you were mowing planthelper ??? . Sounds very painful .... A mower blade flying off is scary. (Everyone give the old mower a 'once over' before mowing hey?!)

i have seen the upload button on the right before, but today, if i click gallery on the top, i don't get any upload button.
i understand that, it's very hard for anybody to help me, if my pc "simply doesn't work proper".
the remark of psylo in post #17 is, totaly innapropiate, because he expresses, the feeling that i'm not intuitive enough, but this is not the case, keep your headbangging icon for youreselfe.
you don't know what's going on, but make me look bad.
my pc obviously, doesn't work proper java, often some buttons and features, which appear on your pc's, don't come up on mine!!!
the only thing which helps me with this problem, is AN ACCURAT DESCRIPTION, CLICK FOR CLICK.
it's fair enough, if your computer works fine, to let a person guess a bit, or to call features by the wrong name (but similar),
BUT NOT, IF YOUR PC HAS JAVA PROBLEMS, or maybe even my account is under attack.
for example, i don't get a dropdown list either, when i click my member name at the top right either.
the tek people, here have been, informed, but they haven't fixed it yet.
thank you give away, your screen shot, was the first thing, which realy helped.
i'm not a pc geek, and new technolegies scare me a bit, but i can assure you, i'm much, much better on a pc, than most other people in my age group and in my surroundings.

i just wanted to add, i mean the tek people responible for my pc, and not sab tek people.
and, the above post took a few minutes to appear, on my screen, i magen how upset i was, thinking i lost my post (sometimes i do loose posts, probably another java issue??).

but he's saying uploading pictures is not intuitive, he's siding with you not against you
If I get time i'll do a click by click tutorial for ya tonight. It's in everyone's best interest that knowledgable people can upload pictures of their plants, I bet you'd have some good ones too :D

Hey, how do you do that screen shot thingy anyway?
Screen shot of whole screen ... press the 'Print screen' button next to the 'scroll lock' and 'pause' keys on a US keyboard
Shot of the active application... press Atl+Print Screen' buttons at the same time.
This copies the image to the clipboard where it can be pasted into other application like Word or your favourite picture manipulating program.

Select Gallery at the top
Select Upload on the right
Select New Album
The Parent album default is "Temporary global album for root member albums". You want to change that so click "Select Album"
The only album you have access to is right at the very bottom on the right, click "Select Album" for "Members Gallery".
As circled in green your parent album should read "Member's Gallery". If so click "Save" at the bottom.
You have just created an album! Awesome! Now to upload some sweet pictures. Click "Browse" at the bottom on the left. It should open up an explorer window like so, you can use that window to choose the photos you wish to upload, i'm going to upload the first image I find.
Now that the image is select click "Upload" on the bottom right.
Congratulations! The image has successfully uploaded you superstar! You can see that the image is uploaded because the thumbnail is present, you can continue uploading more photos by repeating the past few steps or you can proceed to publishing your album.
Once finished uploading photos click "Review & Publish" on the bottom right
stepx.jpg 107.29K
2 downloadsFill in all the details and click "Review and Publish" again at the bottom. You'll have to do this for every picture,
Now you can see that the image has been added to your folder, you may see a lot of images in yours if you uploaded more... you have one final step left.
CONGRATULATIONS, TIME TO ADMIRE YOUR UPLOADED PHOTO ON THE MAIN PAGE, EVERYONE CAN SEE IT, OMG, YOU'RE PRETTY MUCH FAMOUS.
any questions?
