Bit hard to tell from the small pictures, but It doesnt look like khat... the leaves arent serrated enough around the edges

I would say not... more of a purple color rather than the deep red of my experience with catha. Check these pics for an idea of what to look for (i.e. serration in the leaves)

both are from my blog and the pics are pretty recent. But as you can see there is mostly green with a reddish tinge to the serration and fresh growth.
