does anyone know what they are? I am not sure with the color and shape on some, yet they all stain blue, purple/black sporeprint, native aussie bush habitat, bark, leaves, mulch, was raining at first, so they were all slimey gelatinous caps, brown to caramel, gills close to subdistant , varying cap shape

I don't think anyone could say with absolute certainty that every single mushroom pictured is the same species, as there isn't a detailed image of each one, but the majority, probably all, are subs.

They all look like subs to me, some look pretty inedible though, just think... if they were storebought mushrooms would you still eat them? The older they get the more infested with insects they get too, yummy!


The third picture is a nice shot, i love the look of subs the day their veil breaks.



Remember the colour variation between the stem and the gills, once you've locked that into your brain IDing subs is a breeze.

Yeah, I came across a couple of patches that were staining blue, yet they looked very different in size, shape and color, overall tho they all have sub characteristics, both patches have purple/black sporeprints, am still new to the variations of these subs, I have read and seen quite a few photos of various subs, its good to get advice from more experienced people on here, cheers.

Thanks, true about the state of some of them, they were a bit beaten up by bugs and animals, am stoked to finally hunt down a sub here in aus, lotsa homework been put in, more hunting is only going to sharpen my experience, cheers for the input guys
