Its supposed to give visitors, noobs, and people with different specialized interests an idea of a posts accuracy and usefulness. It, for a time, tallied up to a total score on the users profile but that got to be a childish popularity contest so that was removed and now post scores are just displayed on the relevant posts.

...so either someone thought your post was not particularly useful or not the accurate representation of excessive egoistic grandstanding you intended it to be

The Nook sucks, why care about being banned there?
I'd like to see most of the admin there resign.

I know i am not the only person who got away with breaking the rules without any action taken whatsoever
that and some members who are a potential problem for others including in a legal sense are not only tolerated, they are encouraged to participate
it is just a lame ass kissing clique that can't give or receive any form of criticism and that wants to pretend that things and people are better than they actually are
it isn't about or for the info or the community, more about attention whoring and pretending people are something they are not with a support group to re-enforce personal delusion and poor judgement

it reminds me of daytime talk shows with more full frontal nudity, more violent people, and more intoxication, kind of like if Dr. Phil beat the fuck out of Oprah while he has his dick out and is high on DXM and then the audience ohhs and ahhs him and tells him what a good person he is...

at least that is my honest opinion but then i am an asshole, not even i doubt that

You make this Nook sound so interesting Archaea,
quite the opposite of what your post intended lol!

I once tried to take a look at it via my phone but it had so many colourful pages to go thru before I could get to anything to read that I gave up!

You mob are forum addicts lol isn't this one forum good enough for yas?! :P

I spend too much time reading this forum already, not sure i'd be able to read any others without giving up my life *on the outside* :P although I do think reading forums would be a good way to pass the time away at work!!

well, it is for a specific type of person...
if you are violent, shallow or conceited... or all three, then you might love it there
if you want to show off pointless and inane projects, like growing a cactus or mushroom out of your ass
or just look at shit like that...
then you might dig it
or if you look at people as resources to use and think what makes a friend is someone who you trade entheogens with and pat eachothers backs online
then again it could be for you

if you think there is more to friendship than manipulating and using people
or think that pissing contests and berating people is a waste of time...
then it really isn't going to be ideal for you

not all nookers are snobby douchebags...
sort of like not all people in New York City are assholes
but New York still smells like shit...
and if you don't live there
you aren't going to get used to it.

Archaea you made me lol :P
You have obviously had a bad time there, something which I know nothing about so I won't comment on that.

However
IME The Nook is awesome, full of friendly people and lots of great threads (not to mention pr0n).. I'm not addicted to it like I am with this forum but it's the closest thing I've found to The Corroboree on the web.
And isn't it something of a sister site to The Corroboree?
I know a lot of members here have accounts there..

Incog: I think Chiral/Hunab left both forums at the same time.

Nook is a nice forum, particularly the cannabis and cactus forums. Archaea is not being very objective.

I tried to sign up there, but they didn't accept my gmail account. Is this the case for all gmail accounts being used? I'd prefer not to use more legitimate email accounts for that kind of forum. :)

Nah it isn't, there are a couple threads about it on there.
If you are using a gmail account on there it's probably because you signed up before they stopped accepting them :P

i am not being objective
true,
the nook isn't an objective place
a lot about the cactus forum there sucks, but the coolest members of the nook are found there
you have a lot of people pretending that they oppose ingestion, who ingest regularly... among other things

But honesty the best members there are members here and other places, the nook really isn't special and is overly dramatic and full admin hypocrisy, like i said i got away with breaking the rules and others did too, there is a clear double standard and a lot of BS gossip drama behind peoples backs.

Some members clearly abuse others and get away with it because they are friends with admin or are seen as members desirable to the nook, some of those members raise a fuss if anyone says anything insulting to them but dish out insults to others readily and prolifically, particularly when they are enthusiastic and inexperienced. A lot of people there are bullies and attention whores and are given special status and treatment.

There are a lot of cowards willing to talk shit behind peoples backs and kiss ass in the open, I abused a bully/attention whore there in the past and received PM's supporting that behavior from the same people who kissed that same bullies ass in the open, they call it tact and diplomacy, but it is childish and cowardly, and some of these people are admin there.

The nook is a joke on so many levels. It is largely a function of the dysfunction of those who run it.

Teotz, you saying exactly the same words would be like an advertisement for the Nook. So if you hate the Nook and wanna disfame it, don't say anything bad for it. It might be better to just say how cool the Nook is.

Archaea you sound like it's personal man. One's for sure, you're not fair. There are many thing I don't like in the Nook, includ. moderatorship or general attitudes, but it is a good forum for some subjects.

People usually don't get to ethno forums to socialise in general, but to get info and share.

Like I said, The Nook is very good for some subjects, like cacti and grafting.
