it's just a part of the rover caught in the panoramic image. i think that's why discostu said "why even blur it?" because blurring it makes it look like they are hiding something.

edit: okay the video implies they are hiding something, but i saw a web page explaining what happened and you could actually see a photo of the same area without any blur and there is nothing there.

that said i would definitely maintain skepticism in all things, including everything you're told by any space agency!
