Philocacti Posted March 25, 2015 Anyone knows what species this belongs too? I believe these red round things aren't glued on it.
0 Señor Corrochio Posted March 25, 2015 Looks like Mammillaria plumosa, but they don't have the red buds.
0 Evil Genius Posted March 25, 2015 It´s glued on. That poor thing. Hope you get it off at some point. This crap should be banned. My grandma cared for her "everlasting flower cactus" for years until she realized its fake.

0 Philocacti Posted March 25, 2015 Thanks for the ID SJ EG that's hilarious man. I tried to pull one off but it was connected with a tube so I thought it might be real. I know it's not obvious in the picture
0 Gunter Posted March 25, 2015 Those look a lot like dried Gomphrena to me.
0 Philocacti Posted March 25, 2015 (edited) These red balls are not glued, I'm 80% sure. I took one off and it didn't come off easily. I burned the tube of the red thing and smelled like what a plant stem smells like when burned. I'll leave the rest to see if any thing changes or not. PS. EG I got it as a gift from Germany. 0 Señor Corrochio Posted March 26, 2015 If I had to put money on it I'd say those things don't belong there, which would make it surprising that the plant has managed to stay alive. If it was part of the plant why is the stalk also red and why does it go all the way to the roots? Either way very strange
