DeadStar Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Went for a walk around the block and thought i would try and spot some acacia's. Around here we have winter and summer flowering varietys. There are many more around that i will try and get to. Im no good at id'ing so they might not even be acacia's 1 2 3 Edited August 20, 2015 by DeadStar
Sallubrious Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) I'm not sure about the first pic. The second pic could be A dealbata The third pic looks like A cyclops, but a picture of the seedpods could help with the ID for that one. Cyclops is normally a small shrub so if it is the same tree as last few pics then it's probably not cyclops Besides the first pic, they all look like acacias to me. ghosty Posted August 20, 2015 many look like the same tree (#3); Acacia melanoxylon. when it seeds, it should have red aril around the seeds. I recall joyfully wandering round melbourne looking at their plants including acacia's. My interest soon went to the rabbits round there!! thousands... Hmm, I got so hungry that day =) I mean, you could almost just pick them up. great place. I will leave the "silver wattle's" alone though.. they still confuse me =)
